Strike Back below!
by: Daniel Barna Jun. 12, 2009

The last time I so much as mentioned Michael Moore on this site, I was greeted with a vitriolic resentment unseen since the days of The Third Reich. Do you guys hate left wing propagandists or fat people? I can't decide. Either way, Michael Moore is going to continue making movies, and people are going to continue to talk about them, which I guess is ultimately the point. Recently USA today premiered the first image from Moore's latest documentary (?) about the economic crisis and greed-infested Wall Street. Check out what Moore had to say about the film, and the image itself below.

The movie is not going to be an economics lesson; it's going to be more like a vampire movie. Instead of the main characters feasting on the blood of their victims, they feast on the money. And they never seem to get enough of it.

Source: USA Today

Extra Tidbit: It's nice to see that Michael Moore is trying out some different visual techniques this time around.

If you agree with any opinion on Fox News you should probably get your head out of your ass.

A film about the ass hats up on wall street being ass hats? Sure. He'll probably make them look hilariously retarded which they are. Thanks for fucking up the global economy and all my investments you dicks.

Micheal Moores films ARE propaganda and he does use shady film making to get his point across. Not always good...but he DOES get the point across. All his films have been about important subjects Americans need to address. Face it rednecks...your time in the USA is over!

Love Michael Moore.... entertaining, and he always seem ahead of the curve. Farenheit 911, christ, I remember people flipping about that because he was going after Bush. A few years later, EVERYONE was going after Bush, Moore knew the guy was a douche of a president well before most of America did.

He's simply propaganda for the "other side" of America, and I look forward to the entertainment he brings forth with his latest documntary - as much as I look forward to researching the background of his facts for my own increase in personal knowledge. If you despise Moore or any other doc - it's because you're too stupid to realize that you can't take any documentary as fact and are too lazy to research the points for yourself to create a personal opinion.

Kid_Zombie...Have you actually ever watched Fox News? The actual news part, not the primetime schedule which is opinion and commentary. For some reason I doubt it. Even if they did "distort" the news atleast they report it and you can decide if they're right or wrong. Moore intentionally only reports part of the story and uses numerous fast quick cuts so you don't even really have time to take ...

His films aren't documentaries, they're propaganda films to make a quick buck without being honest.

I don't see any difference between right wing fox news distorting facts and left wing moore distorting facts. At least Moore is funny.

Actually he does distort the facts
I don't hate liberals at all, but I'd definitely call Michael Moore's films propaganda. The entire point of Roger and Me was that Roger Flint wouldn't even meet with Moore after closing the auto plant in his home town... except for wait, he actually did agree to meet with Moore and even let him film their interview, but Moore just decided his film would be more powerful if he lied about the who...

When you purposely omit facts to make the other side look bad, you're not a documentarian.

Get Real! Moore is an idiotic douche!
Moore is the scum of America. It's funny how some of you like to claim Moore just makes movies for the little man. He makes inaccurate propaganda film with the sole intention of making money and getting attention.

Read this great Christopher Hitchens article about Moore: [link]

Talk about a F'ing burn!

There's Nothing Wrong...
with being dissident. If the right has the 24/7 perpetual propaganda machine called Fox News, there's no reason Michael Moore can't release a film every couple of years. Michael Moore does nothing but reminds the public that there is an entire population of overlooked Americans that are stuck in the grey areas between politics and policy. Michael Moore does nothing but reminds the public that there is an entire population of overlooked Americans that are stuck in the grey areas between politics and policy. The past 9 months have been hard on me - but even harder for many people in my family... they are decent people who've just not been able to catch any kind of break as a result of the greed of everyone in the higher tax brackets. Moore's films deliver real perspective... plus they're hilarious.

I don't hate Michael Moore. I may not support everything that he has done in his documentaries, but his devotion to the subject he covers is shown in each of his films. I look forward to this documentary.

WHO??
H-Man said: "I hate the guy because he's a lying, manipulative sack of shit who distorts facts"... Gee, for a second there, I thought you were talking about Bush/Cheney. But oh yeah. They only did those things to start wars and have thousands of people die. Wasting all those billions and billions of dollars that could have been used here at home. Moore only makes movies.

I don't hate Michael Moore. And I wouldn't call what he does propaganda. More akin to conspiracy theory. At least with regard to "Fahrenheit 9/11".

Whatever credibility was lost with that movie (still well-made, but ultimately just a campaign against everything Dubya), he more than redeemed himself with "Sicko."

Moore is one of the few documentarians who knows how ...

@Chinomoreno7: I'm not sure what you're upset about there. Those seem like legitimate claims. Do you think the corporate world cares about anyone? Or are you simply commenting on the idea that you believe that Moore is not in a position to talk because he is a part of the fat/rich elite?

His films aren't pure documentaries but they are thought-provoking and can get people talking...

His films aren't pure documentaries but they are thought-provoking and can get people talking about a certain issue that otherwise wouldn't have gotten attention. He's a sensationalist, and I hate that but he does represent balance in the sense that we have both extremes.

I am looking forward to it. Sicko was great. Bowling for Colombine was great. Roger and Me was great...and Flint is even more of a shit hole now. He does bring up some very valid points in his films. And at least he is out there bitching for the little guy instead of kissing the ass of the people who are brainwashing the public to keep their profits while screwing us.

anyone seen the anti-Moore documentary "Manufacturing Dissent". Not the best documentary i've seen lately, but makes a few interesting points about the validity of Moore's evidence and methods.

Come on, Daniel Barma, if you're seriously surprised by how people react to Moore, then you're pretty damn naive. Any polarizing political figure is going to get that kind of angry reaction. If you ran a story about Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter, you would've gotten the same kind of reaction reaction, just from the other side.

give the man props
for not selling out, and letting the fame and the money trap him into actually getting into shape. For a guy who made Sicko - he plays it pretty fast and loose with the parts of his health he CAN control.

I realized what a hypocritical douchebag he was when he interviewed Canadians on health care, and added snide commentary and camera time about the fact they ordered onion rings...

I realized what a hypocritical douchebag he was when he interviewed Canadians on health care, and added snide commentary and camera time about the fact they ordered onion rings. I certainly am against the monsters he's taking on, but there's an element of showmanship and disingenuousness about him. I don't think its always been there - but I think its getting worse.

Even with the entire country bitching about Wall Street, Michael Moore is still, for some reason, forbidden to express the very same opinion on film.
