Word got out just yesterday that Justin Timberlake was in the running to star in GREEN LANTERN for Warner Bros. But today we find out that Timberlake isn't the only one in the running. WB will choose from three actors to play the part with Timberlake making up 1/3 of that equation. The others are Bradley Cooper (rumored to be taking the part for some time now) and Ryan Reynolds (who's also attached to DEADPOOL at Fox).

The problem seems to be that producer Donald De Line, director Martin Campbell and Warner Bros. each have their own separate favorites and making a decision among them has proved difficult. But expect the studio to move quickly because the option they held on each of the three actors expired Monday meaning they could quickly take another offer and leave WB in a lurch.

WOLVERINE ridiculousness aside, Reynolds would be perfect in DEADPOOL so let's put him to the side. Despite his "Sexy Back" alter ego, Timberlake has some pretty impressive acting chops but I don't know that I'm ready to see him strap on the Lantern just yet. Which brings us to Bradley Cooper. Who, in my mind, really is the best guy for the part. He's got the look, the skills, the charm and, thanks to the HANGOVER, mass appeal. I have spoken, therefore it shall be done.

Just read Variety too.
Well, I guess I'll have to live with that. I love Green Lantern and at least it's not fu#king Timberlake, that would have been a damn disaster. I still like Chris Pine or Evans for the role. I do like Fillion, but he just doesn't have the box office draw and I really felt he could pull of the seriousness of Hal Jordan.

A terrible shortlist. Just down to these 3...I say don't make it. Reeynolds and Timberlake are terrible choices, and Cooper's only a step above. None of them look or come off as a hotshot fighter pilot-type, which is the essence of the character. The part needs a stronger screen presence than what these 3 can offer. I hope some minds change somewhere.

I guess Bradley Cooper is the best choice in the list given, especially since Reynolds needs to get his act together for "Deadpool". But I'm going to be the broken record and say Nathan Fillion should get the role. I like Bradley Cooper, but he's already had his big mainstream hit. Give a Cult Icon a chance!

Best choice and the one actor out of two, yes I said two because Justin Timberpuss is a singer not an actor. Reynolds is attached to Deadpool and no way h is going to be Hal as well. BCoop will most def be the man who dons the emerald ring.

I just don't find Timberlake as charismatic as everyone thinks he is. If Emile Hirsch is too short or not right for the part then I think Timberlake is definitely not right for it.

I really like the idea of Nathan Fillion as well. I just figure there is a better Franchise out there for him. The Green Lantern is kinda... weak.

I really have to question the direction the film is going in when someone like Justin Timberlake is a serious contender for the main role. Bradley Cooper is the best of the 3, but I don't like Ryan Reynolds so it's an easy decision for me. I'm down for Fillion in anything and hope he has a breakout role but I don't see him being GL. I wouldn't be upset if he was chosen though.

I'm def. down with Cooper as GL. I think he'd be a very good choice.

How the hell did Timberlake even get considered? I admit he has had a few good roles (Black Snake Moan, Alpha Dog...The Love Guru, LOL that sucked!) but he JUST DOES NOT FIT. I can't see it happening.

I wonder exactly what brought the author to commend Justin Timberlake's acting chops? Don't get me wrong I think overall he is a talented and likeable guy but he hasn't shown anything special in the acting realm yet.

My vote is for Reynolds. I just like him. Deadpool will never get off the ground anyway.

Reynolds is already Deadpool, out of the 3 I'd like to see Cooper. I think the guys got talent and is on the verge of being a big star, this would put him over the top. Don't even ask me how Timberlake got this far, chalk it up to how fucked up Hollywood is.

If you don't know who he is, check out HUNGER. Awesome actor, has the look and no baggage. This is gonna be a missed opportunity... and while Cooper isn't particularly bad, he just doesn't have a memorable presence.

As they are not going the Nathan Fillion route then out of the 3 choices, its got to be Bradley Cooper. Ryan Reynolds should get the Deadpool movie made and I think he will be perfect for that (wolverine rubbish forgotten). I don't think its wise to be the star of 2 superhero movies. As for Justin Timberlake, he should stick to singing.

I agree. Bradley Cooper has come a long way from being a side character on TV. He's proven he can be a leading man and this movie would give him the chance to stand alone as the leading man and hopefully make him a household name.
