Jonah wields Machete?

There's a certain movie I have seen that I'm not allowed to talk about but I will say this: Jonah Hill is absolutely one of the funniest actors working today. His little 5-minute "Brundan" scene in NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2 was the best part of the whole movie and then if you assume that he's an upcoming movie and you assume that a person you knew saw that movie, that person might say that Jonah Hill was also one of the best parts of that movie (damn embargoes!!!).

While Jonah just wrapped a starring role in GET HIM TO THE GREEK, he's apparently set for a supporting role in a different type of film. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Jonah Hill is set to co-star in MACHETE, the Robert Rodriguez directed film that's based on the Danny Trejo short film from GRINDHOUSE. Hill would co-star in the film with Robert De Niro and Michelle Rodriguez who are also apparently in talks to join the cast.

All we know so far about Hill's character is that he's set to play "Julio" with De Niro playing a crooked senator that frames Machete. The project is set to begin filming later this month with Rodriguez co-directing alongside Ethan Maniquis so expect more details to leak out. Click here to read more at Bloody-Disgusting!

That tidbit came out of nowhere. Pretty decent for a movie based on a fake 0 budget movie trailer. But then again, Rodriguez has made some sweet connections in Hollywood over the years with Tarantino. I'm sure he can get top names for much less than their going rate. Kinda like Seth Green on Robot Chicken. And oh yeah, Jonah Hill = Julio??? Let's just hope it's some kind of ironic name. Not sur...

I hope these rumours are true.
Geez, was just gonna say where the hell did DeNiro come into play? Machete was one of the best parts of Grindhouse and I still revisit it on YouTube every now and again.

The fact that it's happening now with this cast is SIIIIICK. Having said all that, I agree with some previous comments, kinda wish they'd remake it with the same cast as the trailer.

Jonah Hill and Machete....
doesn't sound like a good mix. I love both of them, but pizza and masturbating is cool too, but mixing the two together might not be all that great. The tone and humor is different of that of Hill's usual material, but i suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Machete's come a looong way. Just a couple of months ago they were saying it's going straight to DVD. Now, it has Bobby D? This might be crazy enough to work...and I second that DRC.

About Time
Michael Cera gets famous but Jonah Hill gets screwed over. I'm glad Jonah is gettin some work. I think he's a lot funnier than Cera. Cera is just too full of himself, i think.

Jeff Fahey? I'm guessing Deniro is taking Fahey's role from the trailer. Well I hope Jeff gets another part, or maybe he couldn't do it because of LOST?
