Wimpy Kid cast

I think everyone had a good time with this. Lots of energy spent on these comments. I agree that Daniel used a poor choice of words in saying "miscast" if taken out of context to jab at David Spade. This was definitely a right hook and left jab at Spade. But I can also see, someone unfamiliar with the edginess of this site to take it differently.
I thought everyones comments were entertaining.

And I am sure that if 20th Century Fox chose Zachary Gordon for the lead role, they know what they are doing and he is most likely a very fine kid actor judging by his IMDB. This really had nothing to do with him.

Now you have peaked my interest in the movie. But David Spade, you can go far too.............far, far away!

Wimpy Kid has definitely provided me with more entertainment in the form of this Strike Back, than the movie ever could.

And for the record, I think David Spade would have been a fantastic choice, though I have nothing against Zach Gordon... even though I can't even picture him.

I agree with jthomas regarding this article. I have seen Zach Gordon in a couple of movies he has been in as well as Georgia Rule and I find him to be a very good actor. I think the author of this article used poor judgment in using the word "miscast".

Zachary Gordon is just a little kid right? So it's more likely that jthomas is an overbearing yet irresponsible parent (like those in Bruno) who forced poor Zachary Thomas into acting at a young age, parading him around like a little monkey in one of those kick ass hats. Poor Zachary Thomas will be an alcoholic and/or crack head before he's 18! Thanks jthomas for ruining your son's life!(On 2nd thought, he might be the kid's agent, which means he is still responsible for driving Zachary Thomas into making that sex video for attention in 5 years).

I love this StrikeBack. I was thinking the same thing as smooveluv, I'm pretty sure jthomas is Zachary Gordon's mom.

It's ironic that he's calling Barna foolish and ignorant.

This article is no longer about the casting of the wimpy kid but instead on jthomas' dissertation on Zachary Gordon. Is it me or is it kind of creepy to be following the career of an unknown child actor?

Daniel Barna wrote the stupidest, most ignorant, irresponsible, and most unresearched review of the casting of the movie "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid". In his review he states that this was "the greatest miscasting of all time". He clearly didn't know what he was talking about, made false comments and he clearly, didn't he do any "homework" on finding out who Zachary Gordon is.

If Daniel had done a little homework, he would have found out that Zachary Gordon has been in 6 movies, 10 TV shows, numerous voiceovers, is the host of the Ringling Bros. Circus DVD, etc., etc. In addition to his many roles (which is obviously more than Daniel states as being only 2 - If he had taken even a minute looking at his IMDB.com and resume) Zachary Gordon won a "Young Artist Award" for "Best Supporting Actor" in the movie "Georgia Rule".

If Daniel had done, even a little "homework" instead of making the stupid and ridiculous comment "miscast" he would have found this information out.

If you do a little research on the history of the casting for the movie Wimpy Kid, you will find out that Fox spent more than a year finding the actor to play the starring role, they auditioned more than 15,000 kids and they also auditioned the "Top" kid actors. The top 2 casting directors, plus Disney casting, chose Zachary Gordon over all other top kid actors in Hollywood.

The movie industry considers it a monumental win for the kid actor selected to play the lead role.

In addition, I have been following Zachary Gordon's acting career, since he started a little over 3 years ago. In the 3.5 years time, he has accomplished more than most child actors do in 8-10 years. If Daniel took even a minute to look at Zachary's resume on IMDB.com, he would have seen that Zachary Gordon has done way more than "only" 2 movies and has a long list of credits to his name. If Daniel thinks 3.5 years is still considered a "newcomer" than so be it. I would welcome being considered a successful newcomer with 1/2 his credits under my belt. Considering he beat out all the other top kid actors in Hollywood for this part, he must be have an awful lot of talent.

In my view, as well as all the articles I have read about him in the movie industry, everyone agrees that Zachary Gordon is considered one of the top 5 child actors in Hollywood (who is a real actor) around today and moving up the charts. Zachary is considered to be one of a handful of kid actors considered destine to be one of the top actors in Hollywood.

I will continue to watch his career as he blossoms into one of the finest child and adult actor's in the industry.

Next time you want to write an article, Daniel, do a little homework and know what you are talking about, so you won't write an incompetent article and you won't look so foolish & ignorant.
