I think joblo himself said it best, "This is turning into another EXPENDABLES ..."

Today news of a full MACHETE cast came in today, and you would and wouldn't believe some of the names on the roster: Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson and Jeff Fahey.

Did you hear me? Don Johnson. Plus we get a NASH BRIDGES reunion with Cheech Marin. Now these are just supporting roles, but who cares?! The men get their Alba fix and LOST fans get their Jeff Fahey. Fahey was the boss in the original trailer that played before GRINDHOUSE. All of these names are exciting, the jury is still out on Lohan but we'll see.

Seagal was one that surprised me. But I suppose in the grand scheme of things, it all makes perfect sense. Not too long ago we ran an article on Jonah Hill in MACHETE ,but he isn't mentioned so I wonder what happened.

That aside, this is pretty sweet news.

AWESOME
Cant wait for this, brilliant casting for a grindhouse film, seagal may have made a few stinkers lately but the guy is a legend, he needs a cool role like this, with a bit of luck he will get in shape and knock out a few more cool hollywood roles again.

All I keep hearing is that old SchoolHouse Rock song... one of these things is not like the other! But in this case it's two things. Alba and Lohan better not fuck this up. I'd say they're pretty lucky to be in this film and hopfully they won't make it suck.
On the other hand Alba was funny and hot in Good Luck Chuck, so who knows?

A huge fan of the trailer, as it was probably my favourite part out of all of Grindhouse. Trejo is ultimate badass and so is (most of) this cast. Can't wait to see where they go with this, that's for sure.

Those are some good casting ideas, but leave out Lohan...why? because her star power is weak..and Seagal? ehh maybe..it might work.

Interesting choices, even if it has Lohan. Seagal? Haha, that's funny because I'm 3 movies away from seeing his entire roster of flicks. What a crazy random happenstance!

I don't feel one way or the other in regards to this film, but I like the range of casting. Apparently, like his friend Tarantino, Rodriguez likes to cast people who are considered washed-up or lesser-regarded actors and give them a chance to play a fun role. Look at how that worked out for some of Tarantino's previous casting choices (even Rodriguez helped return Mickey Rourke to the spotlig...
I don't feel one way or the other in regards to this film, but I like the range of casting. I know a lot of people seem to have a problem with Lindsey Lohan, and while I don't particular support the choices she made in life, I do think she has talent as an actress, if she just got the opportunities. Again, her acting has to be separated from her life.

Finally, in regards to Jeff Fahey, for those of you who actually watch "Psych", he had a role as a Daredevil on an episode from last season and gave a very interesting performance. It might be worth checking out.

I think it is respectable that he makes children films mainly for his own kids. Of course, adults probably won't like it, but they are not the primary audience. Rodriguez makes Spy Kids and Shorts to entertain his children and other kids who go to see it. He makes Sin City, Planet Terror, From Dusk 'Til Dawn, and others to entertain the adults. Nothing wrong with that. It not only shows hi...

And I don't think veddhead should compare his "grown-up" movies with his children films. You are not the audience. Let him make somethings for his kids.

Where is my Sin City 2 already??? RR is hit and miss for me - for every Dusk till Dawn and Sin City, we get a Spy Kids and Shorts. This is a bad idea.

i could wait on sin city 2 sin city wasn't all that. although visually amazing i almost was bored by it because it was SO faithful to the book. but yeah RR is def hit or miss. this kinda looks cool though.

I would normally be excited BUT ...
... I don't know what was on Robert's mind when he cast Seagal and Lohan. But I am looking forward to seeing Trejo in the lead, I respect him very much and I'm glad for him.

I still cant believe that Robert De Niro is gonna be in this. This must be awesome for Danny Trejo also, he gets to be the main star of this cast.
