Chung on Sucker Punch
You know Jamie Chung, she's the "Real World" star turned superhot actress who's currently the screaming face populates most of the ads for SORORITY ROW all across the internet. But while blood-spattered coeds sounds appealing enough, I believe it’s a safe bet to say that more of use are excited for her next project, Zack Snyder’s SUCKER PUNCH. ComingSoon sat down with her recently and here’s what she had to say about it:
"It takes place in the 1950's and it's a story about a girl who's put into an insane asylum against her will by her evil stepfather. And she goes into these fever dreams to escape. Somehow her alternate reality affects her reality, just like in 'Alice in Wonderland.' All of the characters in her fever dreams are from her real life. And the girls plan to escape and they come up with a plan and things go terribly wrong and it really does affect her reality.
It's a great story and there's amazing, amazing fight sequences. It puts '300' to shame! It's the same stunt guys – 8711. Damon (Caro) and Logan, the trainer. But it really is '300' but with a female cast. It's really empowering. It's powerful, there's machine guns! The girls have been training for 12 weeks, so you can only imagine. The girls are lifting 210 pounds."
She goes on to talk about how much she loves Snyder, her castmates and the movie in general, and reiterates that the project is going to be PG-13, which I have an awfully hard time believing for a movie that claims to be GIRL, INTERRUPTED meets ALICE IN WONDERLAND meets 300, but what do I know?

1.) Seems like she's already giving away too much of the plot. Even though it sounds basic, come on - where's the Inception-style secrecy here for the next highly-anticipated project from a director like Snyder. This isn't coming out of his mouth so I wonder what he'd have to say.
2.) "Putting 300 to shame" sounds over-the-top. Like I said, they haven't even started filming and now they're hyping up the bar even higher, leaving more room for disappointment.
3.) "The girls are lifting 210 pounds." - She's either exaggerating or she's describing butchy disgusting ripped chicks that no dude would have any desire to watch in a Snyder film, or pretty much any film for that matter.
4.) PG-13? Snyder doesn't do PG-13. Nuff said.
She doesn't seem too bright, maybe I'm just looking too far into this and she's trying to get people excited. But I think this thing started going downhill when the lead females had to opt out because of scheduling conflicts... I hope I'm wrong, I wanna have faith.
