You may remember a while back I posted a rendition of GHOSTBUSTERS 1954, where a talented video mashup artist took footage from a ton of old films and made an old-timey trailer for the movie.

Well, he’s back, and this time he’s taking on RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, editing clips together to make it look like a '50s serial. It most definitely looks like a much better idea than INDY 5.

I’m not sure what’s so inherently cool about these videos, but I’m always a fan. It has me wondering though, could the reverse be true? Could someone engineer a trailer mashup that say, recreates CITIZEN KANE using only modern movies? I challenge you, old-timey trailer guy, make it so!

Most of this was from Secret of the Incas. The look of Indiana Jones was based closely on Heston in that movie so this would have been a fairly easy trailer to put together. Especially since a lot of what happened in Raiders was based on old movies and serials.

So, Tell Us Paul....
What exactly is the idea for Indy 5? How can you trash a film concept that hasn't even been fully realized by its creators, let alone revealed to the press? I'm calling you out Paul, because I can't stand it when people rip on a movie that hasn't even come out yet. Report the news without needlessly slamming another film. How about that?

True dat. But, to be fair, my Avatar is classic Indy (not old man Indy) so I could just as well be an Indy 4 + 5 hater, based on the Avatar alone. Though that is obviously not the case.

Pretty sure that was Anthony Quinn in Lawrence of Arabia, but since I'm not well-versed on all his movies, I can't be sure.
