Cronenberg's New Fly?

A remake to Cronenberg's THE FLY is pretty much inevitable folks, and I'll go one step further in predicting it'll be in 3D. And guess who's interested in writing and directing?
According The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Biz Blog, David Cronenberg himself is considering remaking his own remake for Fox even though he had previously sworn off any involvement in it, just as for his original's sequel which ruined Eric Stoltz's career for a while.
The director's interest probably stems from his collaboration with the recent "opera" version of the story, and new technological filmmaking possibilities. Rest assured though, nothing's inked yet and the great man is still working his way toward THE MATARESE CIRCLE.

Extra Tidbit: Who'd be good to replace Goldblum? I say Zachary Quinto. Heores probably won't be getting a 5th season anyway...

2. He's definitely grown as a director over the past decade, if he thinks he can make a better version of his own movie then why shouldn't we let him try?
