Pepper Brooks reporting for ESPN-8, The Ocho

If Variety wants to keep their readership once they convert to a paid service, Jason Bateman has a little piece of advice: avoid fabricating.

The trade reported earlier this month that director Peter Berg confirmed his involvement in HANCOCK 2, and that all 3 stars of the original were signed to reprise their role. Only thing is, no one told Bateman.

"It's surprising to me that Variety would write that story because they're usually pretty well vetted before they report something and that was completely false", the actor told Coming Soon yesterday. "No one has contacted me or anybody that represents me to ask if we were interested. I would love to be a part of the film, but I haven't heard anything about it."

A little more interesting though is the man confirming that the long-promised ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT feature film is finally taking shape. For real. Hopefully.

"It's still being written and my guess is that is will be shot some time next year," he offered, "and then for however long things take to get cut and marketed, so maybe the first part of 2011 I would imagine. That's just a guess." Wasn't that thing held up because of Michael Cera? Don't pee off Jason, dude. You'll be hearing about it!

Extra Tidbit: My favorite Bateman role: Pepper Brooks in DODGEBALL. "F*cking A, Cotton. F*cking-A".

I feel like I've been reading the same article about an AD movie every 2 months or so. "Yeah, they're writing it and stuff". How fucking long does that take?

I don't wanna hear anything about an AD movie until I know it's actually confirmed and the cast is ready to film.

weak
He isn't the ONLY weak part is also the point. The film itself is weak....snapping its spine half way through leaving a limp and broken film to drag itself to the end of the final reel. Bad.

i don't give a crap about hancock 2. as for jason bateman being the "weak part" of hancock, i agree. this wasn't really his normal type of role, i get the feeling at the end of the day he was just in the movie for the check.

"only weak part"?!
Only weak part? You have to be joking. I would refute Bateman being weak in Hancock. In fact, I would say that he was one of the few salvageable enjoyments from the film. The second half is atrocious. Absolutely horrendous.

Funny, Bateman was the only weak part of HANCOCK, to me. If he's not involved in the sequel, I'll be fine.

I think you may have confused your thoughts, friend. Bateman was the only watchable part of Handcock.
