Cody's Playboy movie?

Honest to blog, this is some strange news. Diablo Cody could possibly be writing the PLAYBOY script.

This is the buzz according to Hugh Hefner's Twitter account, "Meeting with Diablo Cody to talk about the Brian Grazer Playboy film today." Cody could easily capture the overwhelming sense of airheadedness that some of those women carry, but could she take on the swagger that is the Hef?

So far Cody's career is made up of odd teenage dialogue that viewers either adore or simply don't get. Her writing is perfect for say, the SWEET VALLEY HIGH movie, which if any of you have read the books know they have about as much complexity as a shoebox.

Originally, John Hoffman was supposed to write the script, but I'm guessing that's not happening since they are taking the meeting with Cody. The JENNIFER'S BODY writer has yet to say anything about it on her Twitter account, which is odd since she is constantly "tweeting". Then again, they could be just exploring their options, it is only a meeting.

Extra Tidbit: I did find this funny however, taken from Ms. Cody's Twitter : @edgarwright I worry that your comments about OLD DOGS will haunt you in the press for years. Like Sienna Miller & "Shittsburgh."

And how many of YOU have written an oscar winning script? Her writing was the only significant factor in Jennifer's Body. Certainly not the direction (which couldn't make heads or tails of the tone). I would much rather see someone attempting a unique way of presenting dialogue, as stilted as it can be given the wrong delivery, then someone trying "realistic" dialogue and failing miserably.

Hey, I never said she wasn't talented. I've just yet to see anything she's written where people don't talk in an ultra clever witty hipster fantasy language. And its with this movie she's writing a true account of real people's lives, thus they talk like regular people (for lack of a better term)

NOW I understand!.....
Now I understand why Jennifer's body sucked so bad. After it was over, I turned to my idiot friend who made me go with him to see it and just said:

"Worst. Movie. Ever."

The writing was SO especially bad that it was probably the #1 thing I hated about the movie (Fox's acting being a close 2nd).

Is she even capable of writing realistic dialogue, or are Hugh Hefner and the playmates all of a sudden going to be the most sporadically clever people in the universe and make up new phrases that no one in real life society could ever get away with saying?

EXACTLY! There had to be at least 20 "new phrases" in Jennifer's Body that nobody in the world actually uses. It's like she's taking the shotgun approach and hoping that one of them sticks so she can say "I invented that"
