     Rob is laughin AT Harvey, not with him...

Fans who got irked at the idea of HALL0WEEN 3D for next summer will be happy, 'cause it's probably not gonna happen. At least not how Bob and Harvey Weinstein had planned. And it's nothing to do with the fact that nobody seems to want it - I thought flushing Zombie in favor of Pat Lussier was an interesting move. No folks, it's to do with that dang TWILIGHT. Or more precisely the people behind it.

It all started earlier this Tuesday when the New York Post reported that Summit Entertainment are looking to expand their stable by maybe acquiring one of the studios recently crumbling under mountains of debts; either MGM or The Weinstein Company were the intended targets. TWC did good business with BASTERDS this year but even Quentin couldn't make up for all the stupid unfortunate decisions made by Bob & Harvey these last few years.

Then a few hours later that tenacious Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood claimed from inside sources that the plug was being pulled on H3D days after the first draft had been delivered because "Bob just felt it was rushing too fast." Indeed it was; production was to start this November so that Lussier could move on to his next project in January, while having the film ready for August. But come on, that can't be JUST a coincidence, right?

Nothing's over till the fat execs sing, but we should start wondering right now; this one touches Tarantino, Sin City and a shit load of TWC projects in devleopment. On the other hand, if Summit buys MGM instead, what about The Hobbit? And (gulp) Bond? Rob Pattinson shaken, not stirred?

I shouldn't call them stupid, but they are pros at making some truly idiotic decisions. The thing they are best at is selling their movies to the Academy as more than half of the ones that have won an Oscar didn't deserve it. Hell many of them should never have been nominated! I personally hope that these guys go away sooner than later, but I bet that won't happen until we find life on Mars.

I can't imagine anyone trying to acquire MGM these days; The Hobbit and Bond vs a 3.7b$ debt, I doubt any studio currently could handle that, let alone Summit.

I wanna se 'em take MGM, too, but maybe even leave (or salvage) the logo. Things just won't be the same without a roaring lion to grab my attention. Weinsteins can afford to learn good business practices, the easy way or the hard way. I don't care. Maybe as studio heads they just aren't right.

Honestly, I hope they go after MGM. Bond is the only franchise I find myself caring about seeing the next installment. The Hobbit never interested me, so I couldn't care less about that production. Sin City 2 has been talked about for so long, I don't care if it gets made (especially since I don't think the monochromatic misogyny is going to work a second time around). And Tarantino? I had a feeling this might happen. Summit Ent. hasn't produced much good product outside of THE HURT LOCKER and THE BROTHERS BLOOM (both of which should have been in the hands of a less teen-oriented studio). Don't even get me started on Fraggle Rock (it's where the Pilgrims landed, don't ya know). lol

I hope they kill the Fraggle Rock movie
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adored Fraggle Rock growing up and would love to see it made into a movie as long as it's done well. Ah, and you see there's the thing. The current version of the film is being made by the same guy who did Doogal and how could any self-respecting Fraggle Rock fan want that?

I'm sick of hearing about Sin City 2.. it's been 5 fucking years and nothing is in any sort of movement with that project.

Fuck Summit.
They dropped the ball with The Brothers Bloom in every way one can go about dropping balls. I hope all their wishes and dreams fail. Personally and professionally. Evening if for now that means not destroying Bob and Harvey's lives.
