Brody vs. Predators!

The far-out skull-collectors officially have some humans to hunt in PREDATORS... one of them with a rather notable profile.

Oscar-winner Adrien Brody will find himself in the wild jungle (again), taking the lead role in the Fox sci-fi action flick from director Nimrod Antal (VACANCY) and producer Robert Rodriguez.

While winning accolades for his more serious work, Brody is no stranger to genre material (KING KONG, THE JACKET, SPLICE, GIALLO). Brody reportedly fought hard for the PREDATORS part, and signed options for sequels. The character was described by Latino Review as a "Steve McQueen type".

The movie involves the infamous extraterrestrials gathering various Earthlings to serve as prey for a hunt. Variety also confirms the previously mentioned casting of Danny Trejo and Walton Goggins, and gives us a few new names: I AM LEGEND señorita Alice Braga (below), large Russian Oleg Taktarov (15 MINUTES, BAD BOYS 2), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (yes I spelled that right), and Louiz Ozawa.

On top of all that, THR says that ex-Venom Topher Grace is also in talks to join the runners.

You can probably start speculating as to who survives more of the film's running time. The movie starts shooting soon in Hawaii and Austin.

Extra Tidbit: In Hebrew traditions, the name Nimrod is proverbial as that of a "mighty hunter".

This is crap.
Well hell. Predator is one of my all time favorite movies from the 80's, but this is crap on a stick. No muscle=no fun. I can't believe they haven't cast one single action star. Hell I would take a WWE star over this crappy cast.

Tell you what: I really dig this casting. Guy's a hell of an actor and it's against type. Count me in for this one. Up in the air with Grace but I'm digging the rest. If they get Arnold for that cameo I'll go through the roof. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

The predators wouldn't just grab the biggest meanest guys they could get, they actually want INTELLIGENT, DANGEROUS, PSYCHOTIC prey. Even Predators grow tired of killing beefcakes. There are people who are dangerous and frightening that aren't pumped full of steriods. I can definitely see Brody playing a fast, intelligent character. I actually think Topher Grace did a great job with the crap he was given on Spidey 3. The rumor of him playing a serial killer is fantastic. Once again it shows you that predators arent just interested in killing powerhouses.

Everyone including the beloved Sam Raimi killed Venom and Topher did what he could being terribly miscast in the role. As for him playing the elleged FBI most wanted cat...now I could see that.
Brody is a bad ass! He has that tough New York thing down and what this franchise needs is talent and he has that in spades.

As for Topher Grace...
Leave that guy out of the equation if you don't want to make us fans suffer, unless a Predator rips him apart on the first half hour. Man, I just hated him as Venom!!!

This is an action flick, and if it is meant to honor the first film as it is promising,
they should honor the spirit of that first Predator flick: the most dangerous men in the world hunted by an ultraviolent alien. This said, Mr Brody managed well on King Kong but his character was sort of a victim (just look the continuous expression of fear in his face in the above photo), and I dón't see him in a Predator movie as the lead tough guy, not even if they tell me he is the 008 or t...

But as a macho Predator killer??? Not so much. There are plenty of action stars that could go for the role. As much as I like him, no.

I'm excited about this, I didn't find AvP all that offensive as it had some nice ideas which were merely hampered by a PG-13 certificate (or a 15 certificate in the UK). I haven't even tried to force myself to watch Requiem and I don't think I ever will so the fact that Rodriguez is even remotely involved is good news to me. I like Adrien Brody, yes he's not exactly an action star but maybe tha...

I don't think you guys are giving Brody enough credit. He's a great actor, so we'll see how he pulls it off.

As for Topher Grace...well after watching him destroy Venom, I'm quite skeptical to see him in ANYTHING. Great Eric...horrible Venom.

Its not the 80s anymore, dont have to be built like a giant with no acting talent to kill a creature. Sigourney Weaver did it, because she was fearless and smart.

Maybe you would have prefered to see John Cena in the lead ?

If Topher Grace and Adrian Brody are in this movie I'm not going to watch it.
The Pianist is the only good movie Brody has ever been in and he wasn't at all the good part of the movie.

is hollywood intentionally letting movies become less bad ass. how have casting directors let topher grace, shia lebouf, and anton yelchin become action stars while vine diesel and the rock have to resort to kids movies???? Arnold, Jessie the Body, and Carl Weathers to Adrien Brody and Topher grace.

Dilli I give you that about Grace possibly being the serial killer, he does kind of have a Ted Bundy aura around him. Im skeptical of Brody. The rest of the cast sounds awesome. I hope the rumors are true about Michael Jai White being in this he needs to get his dues.

Adrien Brody's a great actor. As for Topher Grace, his character will be an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer. That sounds like a bad-ass role for Topher to sink his teeth into.

NICE to know that this thing is REALLY moving forward. Brody is a dick but a great actor. Braga was in the best film of the year last year REDBELT. So this is good. Tommy likey, Tommy want wingy.

Steve McQueen type? I dont see that in Brody, I dont like him very much in fact he's one of my least favorite actors. I hope this falls through. And Im scratching my head at Topher Grace neither of them belong in a group of badasses

Lovin the "vibe" of this movie so far....
but topher grace is a bitch. He can't act for his life and I'm really disappointed that he is being considered for a role in this movie. By the way I love Brody for taking chances like this in his career. Dude is a badass.

im digging all the casting so far
but topher grace? i don't think he belongs here unless they kill him off quick. if they do sign him, i hope we're not in store for one of the more obvious bad ass guys to get killed off quick and let the ones you didn't expect survive, you know, "suprise" us a little. im fine with brody, just not that pumped for topher
