Consider this my final attempt to sway you...

A lot of you have been let down by Tim Burton. From what I'm hearing it started at CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. I don't blame you. However, this ad Burton directed for his exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art is very cool.

It's classic Burton. Good Burton. The exhibit (Nov. 22,2009-Apr. 26, 2010) for the museum will have movie props, drawings, paintings, sketchbooks, costumes, and if you were lucky enough to get on the special tour, a viewing of BEETLEJUICE (favorite childhood movie). He's also doing a book signing.

I know this may not sway you completely but it might be the start in the right direction, and if it doesn't, I'll drop it. Promise. Please don't make me bat my doe eyes at you.

I just think hes old now. i hate the whole goth look its just over done. I hated charlie and the chocolaite factory and sweeny todd was one of the most boring movies ive ever seen!
On that note I loved his old movies (minus batman returns) and big fish was really good also. I hope alice in wonderland is good, but its just an idea thats been done so many many times, dark goth alice yay! I...

I would have much rather seen him do his own take on Wizard of Oz, I think that would have been way cooler.

He has a pretty cool very original style.. but when you turn a Burton movie on with the exact same look and feel in every single one, it gets OLD.

The only problem I had with 'Charlie' was the new Oompa Loompa songs. I definitely wasn't diggin' those, but I enjoyed the movie. I also have to agree with the "emo kids" comment. They haven't ruined it for me... yet but they overdue it, by far!

Fuck that. I love Burton's style and still love it. I'd kill to get a chance to look at this exhibit.

settle down people...
it started and ended with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for me, it wasn't his best film but it wasn't a complete failure, after that came Corpse Bride which was a perfect work of art and then Sweeney Todd which I think is one of Burton's best films to date and now Alice in Wonderland which also looks amazing, so I don't know why people shit talk a director for having one bad film in a reper...

Burton is the Man
I'll be in Tim Burton's corner forever because of "Beetlejuice" (actually, that goes for everyone involved with that movie). The only movies of his I really didn't care for were "Mars Attacks!" and "Planet of the Apes." The man is an acquired taste, to be sure (and I wouldn't mind him taking a break from Depp at some point), but he's also a genius. Not every filmmaker, even the good ones, come ...

Not every filmmaker, even the good ones, come with their own special brand.

Too bad I probably won't make it to NYC any time soon. I'd love to see this.
