It's time for the hammer to fall.

Pretty cheesy opening, huh? Anyway, some good news is coming from Production Weekly's twitter account: "Filming on Marvel's "Thor" is scheduled to begin in LA mid-January, then move to Santa Fe, New Mexico from March till late-April."

Who's excited? It was sort of disappointing to hear that Alexander Skarsgard would not be the mighty God of thunder, but at least his Dad, Stellan got a part. Not sure what part it was though.

I really think this is going to be insanely epic. For starters, you've got Kenneth Branagh directing. That automatically makes it worth seeing. Then there's some good names in the cast: Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. As for the casting of Chris Hemsworth as THOR, I think it's alright. I won't lay any real judgment on him until I see the movie.

On a side note, what the f*ck is going to happen with THE AVENGERS movie? One minute it's on, the next minute it's too big to even attempt. Part of me really wants to see it happen, then again I really don't want it ruined. Is it really impossible?

For Capt America...
I think Bradley Cooper from "The Hangover" and "Alias" would be great, he can do action and he can act and I think he looks the part, can be scrawny at first and then beef up when he is transformed to super soldier.

I dont get the fasination over skarsgard, I think Hemsworth would do fine, lets see him before passing judgement, for all we know skarsgard would have been shit. As for Cap America, I think Chris Pine would be perfect

I really wanted to see Alexander Skarsgard as Thor and since he isn't my excitement has gone down, yeah thats not good I know. Wait for some set pics and stuff to come out in a few months and see what its looking like.

Can't honestly say I'm a fan of any of Branagh's previous directing efforts by the way, so we'll have to see about that one. And Portman is like an annoying little boy elf. I mean that ...

Well, Thor has had quite a muddled and delayed production. So news that filming starts soon is a big deal for the people who've been following the film. And with standards like yours, your GF has to look like Scarlett Johanssen, right?

Anyone else noticed that they were looking for a meteor piece somewhere in Africa, in the Wolverine movie.

Got me thinking that we might see a build up to the Avangers movie. Aliens would then be the bad guys. All you people that has seen the "Ultimate Avangers" animated movies, know what I mean.

Nope, definitely not a build-up. The X-Men movies exist in a different 'universe' or timeline...or should I say selling them to different studios f**ked everything up. So Fantastic Four or Wolverine or Spider-Man are not building up towards the Avengers. Maybe a hint or two here and there, but that's about it.

Sorry, can't drop this cause I'm really looking forward to these movies.

Avengers is essentially a sequel to IM, IH, IM2, Thor and Cap. Everything has already been explained, introduced and so on. Avengers will be a group of heroes we already know, fighting evil we may or may not already know.

To be honest I'm waiting for this more than CapAmerica too...Thor has the potential to be epic in scale...

The Avengers movie is entirely possible.. it's just the question of who could possibly take a film that grand in scope and that massive in it's scale and somehow get everything right... there's too many moving parts to get it perfect, so it has to be somebody close to the source material.

Wilson is also one of my top choices for Cap. I know a lot of people want Hamm as Superman, but I've never been able to wrap my head around it.

Me too, I'm really interested to hear the progress they're making with it. I'm becoming more and more partial to seeing Jon Hamm as Cap. He's a recognizable enough actor yet not famous enough to detract from the character. Seems like a good fit.

I didn't see Generation kill but True Blood just made Skarsgard too creepy. What about Jake Gyllenhal? After Prince of Persia he's totally ripped and trained in stunts and stuff.
