Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Nov. 16, 2009

Following up the other two character posters from Tim Burton's freaked-up live-action/CGI adaptation of Lewis Carroll's already-freaky ALICE IN WONDERLAND comes the final entry and the ostensible star of the film, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.

Further down, you can check out the triptych assembled. The movie's three-dimensional IMAX giganticness (and children's nightmares) begin on March 5th.

Source: Mad Hatter

Extra Tidbit: Carroll (born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) has been described as having "a passion for small female children and next to no interest in the adult world." That guy would be in heaven in the age of the internets...

I'm going to get like 9 thumbs down for saying this, because for some reason people have completely forgotten about his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Planet of the Apes remakes, but I'll say it anyway: THIS WILL SUCK. Burton is only good when he's working from his own material. Burton and remakes are not good bed fellows.

carroll also had an opium adiction so this version is prolly more accurate to the story then the cartoon version ( i think the mad hatter is DEFINITLY suffering from mecurey poisoning)

Love It!
This is classic Burton, I don't know why people are hating on the look of this film if it's totally Tim Burton style'd, it's Burtonized at it's best, stop complaining people!

Figures.
Burtons emoing up good stories and throwing Johnny Depp and his wife in there cause thats all he knows. I'm avoiding this(and every other Burton movie past Sleepy Hallow)like the plaque.

Well i think an interesting point can be made that when people think of their favorite character from any of the adaptations of Alice in Wonderland, very few would pick Alice. So why not the Mad Hatter?

why white faces??
Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Wonderland, his Batman Returns, why does Burton insist on giving his main characters white faces? They look ridiculous. I am surprised Marky Mark didn't have a white face in Planet of the Apes. Watch it happen.
