Quentin Tarantino's WWII opus INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS may have already left theaters, but it's obviously been artistically inspirational.

These astonishing, pulse-pounding images in the retro style of legendary artist Jack Kirby were unveiled on the Twitter page of AICN overlord Harry Knowles. With nary an explanation for their unmistakable coolness, we're left to ponder the idea of the Basterds and their scalp-collecting heroics in four-color format.

Extra Tidbit: Joining these nonexistent BASTERDS comics are Tarantino's planned DEADLY VIPER ASSASSINATION SQUAD animated prequels and a proposed DEADLY VIPERS comic series from artist Adam Warren.
