Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Nov. 24, 2009

If you were hoping for a glimpse of Disney's upcoming adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' famous sci-fi tale... then you've been rolled. However, if you wanted a look at Antonio Sabato Jr.'s rippling torso and Traci Lords in skimpy attire, then you just won the pink elephant.

Yep, the mockbuster-makers at The Asylum can't wait until the legit big-budget epic is ready to hit screens -- they're already thrusting their chump-ready cheapie PRINCESS OF MARS before your anxious oculars.

The trailer for their latest thinly disguised but almost competent forgery can be found below. Enjoy!

Source: JoBlo

Extra Tidbit: Other Asylum "classics" include AVH: ALIEN VS HUNTER, I AM OMEGA, DEATH RACERS, THE DAY EARTH STOPPED and TRANSMORPHERS: FALL OF MAN.

Not that I'm opposed to seeing Lords half naked, but damn that looks horrible.

The princess looks wayyy to cheap. More like a "Prostitute of Mars". And the trailer sucks. This could've been great.

I can't talk on the film itself but whoever did the trailer should be shot...

out of a cannon...

into the sun.

I love the Asylum!
Their movies are cheap, but all sorts of fun, and sometimes better than their major league counterpoints; ie- Land That Time Forgot vs. Land Of The Lost, Haunting In Winchester House vs. Haunting In Connecticut, and both their Transmorphers movies vs. both Transformers movies. I am totally for these guys and think they are awesome!

Unfortunately, "A Princess of Mars" is in the public domain and they have as much a right to make this as they would an Asylum version of Romeo & Juliet.
