Robin Hood trailer
Dec. 15, 2009

Few films earn my immediate attention like a Ridley Scott film... especially when the film involves horses, swords, and Russell Crowe in total gon'-f*ck-shit-up mode.
Below is our first look at the trailer for ROBIN HOOD. And I think as we've all suspected from the get-go, it heavily recalls Scott's KINGDOM OF HEAVEN and GLADIATOR (and I don't know, there's even a little something of LEGEND there to me). The 72-year-old British director obviously knows how to make these types of films in his sleep, and oddly enough, I don't feel like it's become old hat yet. Watching a master craftsman do what he does best is a good thing.
Also, The Courier-Mail has gotten hold of 8 new photos from the film, including the one above. Check 'em all out RIGHT HERE.
ROBIN HOOD is set to open May 14, 2010. For an HD version of the trailer, CLICK HERE.

Extra Tidbit: If you haven't already, I strongly suggest checking out the Director's Cut of Scott's KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, a film I'm not hesitant to call a masterpiece.

But ya Hood will be at least good. Ridley makes good movies. Period.

But Ridley Scott and Crowe can't be denied in my book. I am still confident I'm gonna love this in the end.

I also love the way the film doesnt vilify the Muslims like most films do. Scott managed to make a Western audience understand and even sympathize with the people who should (in terms of the movie) be the enemy of the piece. In fact, it is the Christians that commit the vilest acts in the film and you come away with an understanding of why Jerusalem is so important to so many people.
Really, really good film that doesnt get the attention it deserves.

If it wasnt for the title some people could be mistaking.
BUT, it doest look better than I thought it would, even if Im a fan of Mr. Scott.

Well, gee, Mr. Oscar-nominated Director of Photography, tell us all how YOU would light and film in the woods?
Scott, Crowe, horses, armor, swords - I'm SO there ! No-one does historical epics like Scott.

The trailer was great, it's just a little hard for me (so far, I'll likely get used to it) to see Russell as Robin Hood.
