I'm still a little amazed that Universal Studios was able to beat out Disney for the theme park rights to HARRY POTTER but they did and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be revealed in 2010. Today we've got the first official pic of Hogwarts from the new theme park. Hogwarts is expected to house the flagship attraction of the World of Harry Potter, "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey," one of those interactive type rides that, as the press release puts it, "uses ground-breaking technology to bring the magic, characters and stories of Harry Potter to life." With the 20-acre park nearing completion, expect to see even more as the months creep closer to opening day. Check out the image below and you can click to enlarge.

Extra Tidbit: The ride isn't a roller coaster but more one of those robotic arm rides.

WTF???? a HP theme park??? whatīs the world turning into, i wonder...

i actually disliked all the HP movies so far, so, i think this is a BIG JUMBO FAIL, i mean, go into a castle and see little sutpid magicians flying around the place??? what for? canīt you guys just see the movies at home? for free???

Yes, looks like I picked the right time to move to Orlando. On a side note, did anybody hear about that petition to turn Tom Sawyer Island at Disney into the "Lost" island. That would be awesome as well, if true.

holy shit i had NO idea but that would be great! They could have the beach set up, crash site, the hatch, the cages from season 2.. whaaaattt!! Where did u hear that?

I'm not gonna lie.. the older I get, the more I wanna go other places but the more fun I have at Unviversal and Disney/MGM/Animal Kingdom/Epcot..

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan so this is a fucking thing of beauty! It looks so cool and I can't wait to check out Hogsmeade!!

on the WB lot in Burbank there is a museum that has an entire floor dedicated to Harry Potter props, costumes, miniatures, etc. Sad that the largest studio in Cal. couldn't fit this in. Oh well, cool that its being made anyhow.

I'm probably gonna get shit for this but I've actually never been to Universal Studios! but this is a really good reason to go for the first time.

I wish they would add more onto the Jurassic Park section. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan but this does seem pretty cool.

Awesome.
I am a total Disneyland fan. It truly is the happiest place on earth.

That being said, I also love the world of Harry Potter. Can this be the theme park to compete with the magic of Disney?

I live in Orlando, and I've been looking forward to this for a while. You can only do the same ol' theme parks so many times. It looks good now that the scaffolding has come down from around it. The Orlando Sentinel website also has a lot of pics through out the construction phase if anyone is that interested.
