2004 New Line Films!

How do you top three years running of LORD OF THE RINGS masterpieces? Well, THE SON OF THE MASK and two films starring Pierce Brosnan isn't the first thing that would have come out of my mouth had I been asked that question, but let's cut NEW LINE CINEMA some slack, since they do, at the very least, have yet another BLADE movie in their 2004 arsenal, as well as Jessica Biel in two of their films, and Salma Hayek in a bikini in another (there is a God!) AFTER THE SUNSET

Plot: Life should be easy after a sterling career as a master thief. Though he is now retired to an island paradise, trouble comes looking for Max Burdett (Brosnan) when his former nemesis from the FBI (Harrelson) shows up with news of a big score rumored to be on the horizon. With a savvy local cop (Hayek) also in the wings, a new cat-and-mouse game of friendship, suspicion and thievery is afoot.

Plot: Nicole Kidman stars as Anna, a young widow who is finally getting on with her life after the death of her husband, Sean. Now engaged to be married, Anna meets a ten year-old boy (Bright) who tells her he is Sean reincarnated. Though his story is both unsettling and absurd, Anna can’t get the boy out of her mind. And much to the concern of her fiancée (Huston), her increased contact with him leads her to question the choices she has made in her life.
BLADE: TRINITY

Plot: Wesley Snipes returns as the day-walking vampire hunter in the explosive third and final film in the Blade franchise, Blade: Trinity. When the Vampire Nation hatches a plan to frame Blade in a series of brutal killings, he must join forces with the Nightstalkers, a clan of human vampire hunters, in an extreme battle in which the trail of blood leads directly to the notorious vampire legend, Dracula.
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Plot: Struggling with the psychological effects of his repressed childhood memories, a young man (Kutcher) devises a technique of traveling back in time to inhabit his childhood body. As he attempts to mend the broken lives of those closest to him, he finds that every trip into the past brings chaotic results into the present, leading him to travel back again and again and causing irreparable damage.
CELLULAR

Starring: Kim Basinger, Chris Evans, Jason Statham, Jessica Biel, Noah Emmerich, William H. Macy, Valerie Cruz
Plot: How do you save someone’s life if you can’t put down the phone? CELLULAR pits a young man in a high-stakes race against time as he searches for a kidnapped stranger whose only connection to him is through a wrong number on his cell phone.
HIGHWAYMEN
Director: Robert Harmon
Starring: Jim Caviezel, Rhona Mitra, Frankie Faison, Gordon Currie, Colm Feore
Plot: Highwaymen focuses on a man (Caviezel) who sets out to avenge the death of his wife by tracking down her murderer -- a serial killer who hunts and kills women using his '72 El Dorado. The film also stars Rhona Mitra as a young singer who survives an attack and becomes a key player in the hunt to find the killer.
LAWS OF ATTRACTION

Starring: Pierce Brosnan, Julianne Moore, Parker Posey, Michael Sheen, Frances Fisher, Nora Dunn
Plot: Maybe getting married first is the best way to fall in love. As divorce attorneys, Audrey and Daniel have seen love gone wrong in all its worst case scenarios. So, how bad could their chances be?
THE NOTEBOOK
Director: Nick Cassavetes
Starring: James Garner, Joan Allen, Gena Rowlands, Sam Shepard, Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams
Plot: As a man (Garner) reads from a faded notebook to the woman (Rowlands) he regularly visits at a nursing home, his words bring to life the story of a young couple (Gosling and McAdams) who are separated by World War II, then reunited 14 years later after their lives have taken different paths. Adapted by Jeremy Leven (Don Juan De Marco) from the acclaimed novel by Jeremy Sparks, The Notebook reveals an epic story of love lost and found, of new beginnings and second chances.
THE SON OF THE MASK

Starring: Jamie Kennedy, Alan Cumming, Traylor Howard
Plot: In the sequel to the 1994 hit, the Mask of Loki finds its way into the hands of aspiring cartoonist Tim Avery's (Jamie Kennedy) infant son. As the power of the Mask transforms him, the unthinkable becomes not only possible, but mind-bogglingly real.
