Considering the amount of space in this article dedicated to Jessica
Simpson and the forever stalled new SUPERMAN feature, isn't it only a matter of
time before we can throw both into the same pile and declare that the singer/
reality actress in the running for Lois Lane? She's pretty much up for every
other role in Hollywood and Supes has been linked to everybody except her and
Pauly Shore. In case you didn't know...
The Hollywood Reporter has just officially announced that McG is not
directing the man in tights. IGN Filmforce is going the extra mile to say that
X-MEN director, Bryan Singer has met with the necessary people to talk about
taking over the project. As for the cast, long time favorite to star as Clark
Kent, Henry Cavill is reportedly not going to headline the film due to his
involvement with Singer's LOGAN'S RUN. The latest name to be attached to the
role is Jesus Christ himself. Jim Caviezel, who played Cavill's dad in THE COUNT
OF MONTE CRISTO (this is getting confusing), has apparently cut to the head of
the long, long rumor line that includes Scarlett Johansson for Lois Lane and
Johnny Depp for Lex Luthor. As for the all important role of Jimmy Olsen,
Superhero Hype is reporting via USA
Today that Shia LaBeouf recently read the script. Don't hold your breath though.
Sources are saying that LaBeouf's interview for the role was held with a now
dismissed McG. Anyhoo, this could be your SUPERMAN cast if the internet is to be
trusted.

Entertainment Tonight stated earlier this week that Jessica Simpson has
nailed down the role of Daisy Duke in the upcoming big screen version of THE
DUKES OF HAZZARD. Nothing new there for the rumor mill, but the other roles Jesse
has her sights set on are right up my alley.
Dark Horizons is reporting
"...Producers were impressed with a small audition tape that the singer-actress
sent them upon request, and will possibly give her a small role in the 3rd
"X-Men" movie as a lounge-singer, to introduce the character of Dazzler, in
hopes to extend the character's role in future films". Anyone else think that
the only reason the makers of this film are considering the insertion of Dazzler
into this franchise is the fact that Jessica Simpson looks like she was born for
the role? It seems she might also be up for adding the title of Bond Girl to her
resume too. Stay tuned.

Sticking with the superhero theme, Batman On Film is reporting and Clint over
at Moviehole is confirming that Lachy
Hulme might be up for the role of a young Joker in the next BATMAN film (that
being the sequel to BATMAN BEGINS). Says Clint, "Lachy ["The Matrix
Revolutions"] would love to play the role, but stresses that he hasn't been made
an offer yet. "I got the heads up from my LA manager that WB have been kicking
my pitiful name around for the Joker role in the Begins sequel. It is a role
that I would desperately love, but it's way too early for internet rumours to be
flying", he says. Obviously not Lachy since you just made your way to this
article.

Sharon Stone has apparently put plans to sue the producers of BASIC INSTINCT
2 on hold. Now she's going to star in it. She was suing producers for $19
million over the collapse of the sequel, but said last week a settlement had
been reached. Moviehole adds that the actress is demanding her clothes and
jewellery from the film, presidential hotel suites, three nannies, two
assistants, a maid and a 24-hour bodyguard. Michael Douglas is attached to the
project.

Rob dropped in to let us know about the info regarding the Wachowski Brothers'
possible next project over at
Insomnia
Mania. PLASTIC MAN!?! "If this gets the green light we may expect a release
of 2005 or 2006?! No cards have been put down on the table, however it looks
like the Wachowski Brothers' script reads like a PG-13 movie. Warner Brothers
and Amblin Entertainment remain involved in the project, it could also spread
over to DreamWorks Pictures." They go on to throw a couple names on the fire,
one of them obviously being Jim Carrey since he is in fact, made of plastic, and
the other being Bruce Campbell. Bruce is getting up there in years but a role
like this would do wonders for the iconic cult fave. From the looks of Alex
Ross' art, Bruce already has the part.
