Who's directing Saw 2?
Gregg Hoffman, producer of SAW and its upcoming sequel told our own horror guru Arrow recently that he had a director in mind for SAW 2 but refused to name names. "I think your spies may be closing in on his identity," he said, "but you'll get nothing more from me about this until I'm damn well good and ready!" Well Gregg, you were right. I've been working some overtime and as a result, JoBlo.com can exclusively reveal that Lion's Gate Films and Twisted Pics have, in fact, found their director for the next installment. That man who will further the adventures of one of our favorite demented serial killers, Jigsaw, is Darren Bousman. The name may not ring a bell as Bousman is relatively unknown (and rather young at the age of 25). But his work includes some well-received short horror films, a music video for Static-X and commercial work including a recent one for Virgin Cola. For more on Darren, you can check out his IMDB page here or check out another snippet of his work, that looks decidedly SAW-esque, at this page here. Filming is expected to begin later this spring in Vancouver. Little else is known about the film itself but one thing we do know is that it won't be subtitled HACKSAW, as it seems to be rumored across the web. For more on SAW 2, stay tuned to JoBlo.com and our sister site Arrow in the Head as we'll have more on this story as it develops.
