For those with super vision:
Me, Christian Viel, Producer Benoit Hamel
and actor Deke Richards
Hey guys and dolls! Arrow here! Having bypassed the SAN DIEGO
COMIC CON this year, I hit up the Montreal FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL
instead. I met lots of kool people along the way and would like to thank
everybody who had lunch, hung out or/and partied with my pointy ass!
Now, here's a list of the
Fantasia films that I managed to see:
THE GOOD (MEANING:
AMAZING)

A still from "Shutter" my fav flick of the Festival!
SHUTTER:
"It had me jumping in my seat like a grasshopper on
speed
with a firecracker up its hopper."
DEVIL'S REJECTS
"A nasty, dirty, perverted and balls to the wall
road trip in “murder land”."
THE BAD (MEANING:
PRETTY GOOD)

From the trippy Night Watch!
The film that closed the Festival
THE BIRTHDAY
"Unique, brave and at times fairly outrageous!"
NIGHT WATCH
"Had my jaw drop via its zany visuals and
fascinated me with it’s out there narrative."
THE UGLY (MEANING
SO-SO TO BAD)

From CREEP!
CREEP
"An okay hour and half of gore, semi tension
and a chick running around."
THE EYE 2:
"It could’ve been worse but at the same time,
it could’ve been much better."
THE ROOST
"The first words out of my pie-hole when coming out of “The
Roost” were: I didn’t get it."
SMALL GAUGE TRAUMA

Me and Christian Viel introducing the new PK Teaser!
Small Gauge Trauma is the Fantasia "Short
film" block. Christian Viel and I were there to open the block with a SECOND
TEASER for our film
PAIN KILLER.
PK Co Producer Benoit Hamel, Actor Deke Richards (Kersey) and my bro Patrick
Fallon (Who plays a Goon in the film) were in attendance to back our asses
up. Thanks for the support guys and more importantly, thanks for the beers
afterwards! The event was a disappointment for all of us. To read
what happened go
here. I'm not in the mood to go into it again.

From the chilling "Gorgonas"
I thankfully stayed long enough at the "Small Gauge"
to see a groovy animated Argentinean short film called
GORGONAS Directed by
Salvador Sanz. The dread filled short told the tale of a Pop Girl Band bringing forth the end of the world.
Visually striking, wild, creepy and trippy, the short left quite the impression
on me! See it if you can find it!

The twisted "Jemima - A
Photographic Trophy"
The other short that stuck out for me was
JEMINA - A PHOTOGRAPHIC TROPHY.
The film was well shot, compelling in its substance (all about "seeking true love" and "murder")
and I fell in lust with actress Joy McAvoy right off the bat. Yup!
I'm always a sucker for a pretty lady! Talk about photogenic! GORGEOUS! Find out more about the "Jemina" short
films
here
and Joy, call me up already...lets do drinks and Jell-O!
And that was that on that in terms of my foray
within the walls of FANTASIA. Trust me when I say this; I didn't get to cover
half of all the good stuff that was going on at the Festival. I missed out on
all kinds of groovy films! But what can I do, I am but one man and I need to sleep,
eat and get laid too! With that, FANTASIA 2005 is over! Off to the Pub I go...AGAIN!
