Pierce Brosnan, fresh off not being James Bond anymore, will replace Richard Gere in the upcoming psychological action flick SERAPHIM FALLS. It was announced during the Cannes Film Festival that Gere would co-star with Neeson but the former since dropped out of the production for unknown reasons. Brosnan has stepped in to fill his shoes and join Neeson in the directorial debut of David Von Ancken ("The Shield"). The movie, written by Von Ancken and Abbey Everett Jaques, takes place during the Civil War and follows Army Colonel Carver (Neeson) who swears revenge on Brosnan's character Gideon and pursues him across the West to meet that goal. Mel Gibson is producing the film through his Icon Entertainment production company. Neeson is still attached to star in Steven Spielberg's planned Abraham Lincoln biopic and Brosnan has THE MATADOR, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year, on the way.
