Recent Oscar winner Alan Arkin has signed on to star in Warner Bros. upcoming comedy GET SMART. Arkin will play the head of CONTROL, the top secret agency that Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) and Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway) work for fighting evil (in this film, Terrance Stamp will play the head of KAOS). "Chief," as he was so affectionately referred to on the old show, was orignally played by Edward Platt (who actually bears quite a resemblance to Arkin). Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is also in the cast as a new character, Agent 23. Filming on GET SMART is already underway in Los Angeles for director Peter Segal (ANGER MANAGEMENT). Arkin also has RENDITION with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal and SUNSHINE CLEANING with Amy Adams on the way.

Great casting!
Arkin as the Chief is a geat choice. The casting on this one has been spot on so far. One of the few TV shows to movies I'm looking forward to.
