If you're a fan of that Jason Bourne guy you're in luck. A lot of luck. Universal has nabbed exclusive rights to the Bourne character as well as first-look at any other Robert Ludlum novels. Originally conceived as a trilogy, the Bourne series has grossed over 1 billion dollars worldwide and there's many more books featuring the character that can be turned into profitable films. Why not, right? Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass are already signed on to a fourth installment which I'm guessing will be called something like "The Bourne Conundrum" or something to that effect.

As for the title how about The Bourne-Star? Possible plot: Mark Walhberg can appear as dirk diggler (by refernce only) who tries to uncover JB's former life (maybe to embarass him or something) in the porn-industry before he become a badass assassin.

Think about it, Jason Bourne has finally found a piece of his life he actually doesn't want YOU to know about!
SPOILER ALERT: the dirk diggler character is his brother!

Locations: Thailand, Amsterdam, Las Vegas

Co-stars: Diane Lane as a retired stripper turned CIA-informant and later love intrest, Djimon Honsou as one of the 'hitman-of-the-week' baddies.

I am excited to see the fourth, but unless they present a concept that they can go forward with, I hope they end it with that.

i really like the bourne films, as well as ludlums books. it was a well made american version of a bond-style character. great action flicks. and while matt damon was too young looking for me personally, his acting made it quite convincing and won me over in the end.

my only gripe about these flicks, was that "in your face" fight sequence, where you are so close to the action its just blurry and you dont really know what the hell they're doing to each other, and the latest 007 film suffers from that, to a degree also. it detracts from the film because its too fast and hard to follow.

other than that minor complaint, these films rock as action movies, so i say bring on "Bourne Free", which isnt a chinese guys version of the third in a trilogy, but refers to Bourne being free of the memory probs, and able to utilize his particular skillset to bring down the guys who killed his true love, by stopping other agents from committing their acts.

Here's an idea: The CIA or whoever take a look at all the dead bodies and wrecked cars and say, "F#ck it. We quit. Let's go find Osama or play golf or something."

But we all know that won't happen. If they're going to make a 4th film (and it certainly seems as if they are), my guess is they stick to the book titles and call it The Bourne Legacy.

Just please, oh please, tell the producers of the superior James Bond franchise to NEVER AGAIN emulate the action style of the Bourne movies. It was because of such an attempt that "Quantum of Solace" had some of the most boring action sequences ever in a Bond film.

While mark.strang is right the next three Bourne novels are Legacy, Betrayal, and Sanction, they weren't even written by Ludlum, and other than stealing the titles the studio doesn't want any input from them anyway. The novels were great, I wish Hollywood would stop tarnishing them.

It makes sense that Universal is retaining rights to a character that has made them millions, wait... billions of dollars, I just wish they'd drop the whole 'Based on the novels of Robert Ludlum"" charade. Jason Bourne is becoming the next James Bond, and that's cool. Let's just all recognize it for what it is. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now..."

They both have Blond hair , they both run around like a kid hopped up on too much ritalin , and they are both secret agents kicking everyone's bum in sight . Craig may have the edge though , he has that i love the sound of my own voice accent .

I'm bored of both series , i really don't care what happens to either one at this point . Just get it over with and combine the two series ,have a sort of marvel team up , The Quantum Supremacy .

isnt that the title of the fourth book... that ones about his son, and I doubt theyll fast forward to him being 50 or make up some crap anout having an adult son when he and the series are still so young... so unless ...
isnt that the title of the fourth book... that ones about his son, and I doubt theyll fast forward to him being 50 or make up some crap anout having an adult son when he and the series are still so young... so unless they try to make it more of an "i am legend" type legacy, then I think its gonna be the first to stray from the novels titles.
