Adrien Brody There's a rumor floating around today that Adrien Brody is in talks to replace Eric Bana as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk in what Marvel promises will be HULK LITE or HULK SMASHING UP TONS MORE SHIT THAN HE DID IN THAT WEIRD, PREACHY FIRST MOVIE. On hearing this, naturally, our bullshit alarm immediately went off. However, IGN decided to do a little investigative reporting and asked Brody's reps at CAA about it but rather than get the standard "what the hell have you been smoking?", they got a "no comment". Not that "no comment" is necessarily indicative of anything beyond CAA wanting to dick with IGN but it's something to think about. In the meantime, what's your opinion on Brody as Hulk? Strike a little something back, why dontcha?

Extra Tidbit: Brody was born in Woodhaven, Queens, New York.

Hulk still needs to retain some of Banner in his face so we can sympathize with him. With Bana, they were able to do that, but there's no way they can incorporate any of Brody's face into the Hulk without him looking ...

When I saw the title of this, I thought maybe Jason Lee (Mallrats' Brody) had signed on to play the Hulk...then, and only then, will I have any interest in this unwanted and unnecessary sequel

Ang Lee's HULK came out recent enough, that seeing Banner replaced by another actor seems jarring-- not to mention the how we might feel about the rest of the cast... It feels too soon to re-boot the whole story and start from scratch--and it feels wrong making it a "continuation" with none of the original actors that we, as an audience, invested our time into caring about. I see, from what Ive read, where the production is trying to meet somewhere in the middle of all that... the bottom line at this point is how well the movie turns out and if it will give fans of the HULK what they want-- an all-out action adventure (with added smash) to leave our collective jaws dropping, while still giving us a character to care about. I agree that only parts of the first HULK gave me what I wanted as a fan of the character-- partially blame that on giving the film to a director who, although very talented, didnt "get" why the general audience was only half-satisfied with the film. He just wasnt familiar with what the fans thought of as "cool" for the character-- but he came pretty damn close-- ok, I'll stop rambling and get to the question... Brody. If we're going to replace the cast and get a fresh start anyways...why not? I liked Brody in Hollywood-Land...and The Jacket-- he would make a great contrast, physically, to see a thinner, weaker looking character turn into the HULK...he looked pretty frail in The Jacket-- still having enough acting chops to really bring some depth to his character. Im sure the whole project would have a different tone-- and Bana is an actor that I do actually like-- but, yeah, if they change things up and get Brody--I hope the rest of the cast can bring as much to the plate as he can-- still, as you say...all rumor and speculation at this point:)

Liked Bana, but this could work. I think the key is that beyond the eyes, when he goes Hulk he shouldn't resemble or sound like Brody. But Brody could make a better geeky Banner than Bana did.

My only problem with Bana was that the guy doesn't need to turn into a green monster to kick your ass. Brody, on the other hand, looks like he would break his arm punching someone.

brody's definitely a good actor but as bruce banner... questionable. hey, i had my doubts about christian bale as batman and i'd like to think he pulled that off pretty well. also, this does sound kinda far-fetched....
