About two years ago, Paramount Vantage started production on a thriller titled CARRIERS about a viral pandemic and starring a young actor named Chris Pine. Vantage, the indie studio of Paramount, hoped the film would be a hit like 28 DAYS LATER was for Fox Searchlight. But the film had its problems, which were only worsened when Paramount decided to do away with Vantage entirely. But now Chris Pine is the star of one of the biggest movies of the year and, shit, why not? Let's throw this thing out there and see what happens. Oh and we're just gonna toss it out on September 4th when no one is paying attention.

The trailer for the film is below and it doesn't look CASE 39 awful though obviously derivative of the viral/zombie films of a few years ago. Check it out!

Extra Tidbit: Thanks to PRINCESS DIARIES 2, this won't be the most embarrassing thing on Pine's resume.

Pretty sure Just My Luck is more embarrassing then the Princess Diaries 2.

But this does look interesting, first saw the trailer (not this one, but not sure if it was the first one either) the day before news broke about swine flu.

looks good to me
yes it is similar to many other movies that have come out lately, but it seems to have the somber tone of 28 days and I think it looks good.
