I don't know why Charlize Theron's dull ass was in this movie. They should have gotten GABRIEL UNION in place of Theron, then it would have been a better movie.

The movie was entertaining when its focus followed Hancock being the only Superhero alive who just didn't give a damn about society, became a drunk, and saved people (without a care for the collateral damage he caused) simply because he had nothing better to do.

When Theron's big reveal came to the surface, the movie fell on its face. It lost focus and direction. Like a straight man in a gay bar; it didn't belong there.

A sequel will more than likely continue where the first left off. That isn't a good place to be. Bring back those beginning elements of Hancock and a sequel could be fun. Continue with all of the nonsense that Theron intruded and well....well let's just say it will be that straight man in the gay bar again.

I just saw it the other day and it was pretty good. It didn't really have a true villain in it cause I don't think that was what the story was about won't say anymore. But the commercials and the dvd cover do give things away but I'd guess that their thinking was "hey everyone who saw this in theaters, remember this part you liked so much, doesn't want to make you go buy it on DVD?"

I liked Hancock. The only real downside to the film was that it did not have a real villian for him to fight against. Hopefully the second film will have some real conflict.

i loved Hancock, it had great comedy in the beginning and i liked the story for the whole flick. And i would say i was in the minority, but, the flick made a shit load of cash!

as for your extra tidbit... i 100% agree, i never understood why, in all the press for the flick, they made sure to keep tight lipped on the twist, yet the DVD cover AND the description on the back of the box straight up tell you the big plot twist?! Made no sense!

The movie was good up until the point they added the "surprise". That could have still worked had they not done it in such a weird unexplained way, it felt like two separate movies being tacked together.

"Hancock" had the potential to be a very good movie, but it failed to marry an interesting concept with a crew that was on the same page. Peter Berg should not be back to direct, for he hacked this thing to death, but...

"Hancock" had the potential to be a very good movie, but it failed to marry an interesting concept with a crew that was on the same page. Peter Berg should not be back to direct, for he hacked this thing to death, but I was just so fascinated with the story that kicked in during the second half (as poorly as the marketing department concealed it). I think the drama was just more interesting than the comedy, and it would be great to explore that in a sequel.

What's ironic is what Batwingx23 said, because that's what a Superman movie should be about. And let's face it Hancock the character was more or less a rip off of Superman. If HANCOCK had been a straight up comedy I think it would've been much better. I remember reading about it before it came out and how it was about a superhero (Smith) who's got problems and needs help straightening up and getting back into the publics good graces and Bateman's character helps him with that but in the processes Hancock falls for and tries to woo Bateman's wife (Theron). Had they done JUST THAT, it would have turned out to be a fresh and original romantic comedy.

Instead we got a messy piece of...something. And people say TDK has flaws.

I really did not care for Hancock at all. I was really excited to see the movie until i started to hear all the terrible reviews. When I finally checked it out I couldn't believe how bad it was. I'm all for serious superhero movies, but they the shift from comedy to drama was too much to shallow. I generally liked the first half of the movie but the second is terrible. I couldn't believe when they threw in Theron. It was terrible. Hopefully a sequel could fix these problems, but I doubt it.

I just finished watching Hancock for the second time in two days. I don't think it's that bad; it just leaned a little too far toward the serios end of things toward the second half of the movie.

A sequal needs to be more comedic all of the way through. It'll be a challenge since Hancock has kinda got things together by the end of the first movie, and that's where the comedy came from.

I don't know, maybe he'll fall off the wagon or something.

I was into the "Hancock" storyline of him being the only superhero and his struggle, until they revealed Charlize Theron as another superhero and that they were married and that they lose their powers when they are near each other. I lost interest after that point. the movie would have been better had it stayed with the storyline of Hancock struggling to exist in a world where he is the most powerful being, and the pressure that comes with that.

In Canada there is no spoiler on the DVD cover. I've seen images online of the cover that is a "spoiler" but in Canada, nope, didn't get that cover, its just Willy on the front.

I enjoyed Hancock (more than the Hulk film actually) and thought it to be one of the best films of the year.

If they can bring in a good story and expand on the characters, I'm all for a sequel.

I personally think a sequel could be better. Jump right into the action, more focus on that hopefully. Less drama, not as twisty and bring back Charlize and Jason Bateman and I'm down.

Seems like anything remotely sci-fi with Smith will get us a potential sequel. Hancock 2... I Am Legend 2... I,Robot 2 from what I hear.

I loved the movie "Hancock" and can't understand why there is so much hate for the movie. This is the type of movie that definitely needs a sequel because there are still so many question not answered yet and the fact that they can do so many things with "Hancock" in the sequel. I thought Will Smith did an excellent job playing Hancock and hopefully in the sequel they can get Jason Bateman and Charlize(sp?) Theron (sp?) back considering that some of the best parts was when Smith and Bateman were on screen together. Bring back their kid as well.

I'm all in for another "Hancock".
