Rob Zombie has unleashed the official poster for his upcoming HALLOWEEN remake on his MySpace page and, aside from the lamo text the tagline's written in, it's deliciously atmospheric. What do you guys think about it? Please, discuss in the strike backs. Click through to check out some accompanying brand-spanking new pics. (Note: Must be registered to MySpace to access the page.) HALLOWEEN is set for release August 31st.

Halloween

Extra Tidbit: With the launch of the official site, it's just HALLOWEEN day all up in here.

It's pretty cool, but it doesn't really show us what the feel of the movie is gonna be, and thats what I wanna know!
Zombie better not turn it into a lame ass, over-the-top, gore fest.

Some films or characters are scary because of one simple reason...there is not motive. We cannot fathom this concept and it is terrifying. In Manhunter Hannibal is just a sociopath. In Halloween Michael was just the embodiment of evil and devoid of humanity. He didn't murder because someone didn't hold him enough. That is damn scary. You can't predict it. Explaining Myers seems more and more foolish.

I think The Chairman is right, a tribute to the original poster would have been nice as the first "teaser" type poster. This is looking too much like a modern horror film (gore over suspense) and with Zombie at the helm, I'm assuming it will be. I'll probably see it regardless, just in case, but I'm not expecting much.

Well, it certainly LOOKS good, if one is to judge by the poster. Course, as I've said before, judging based on a movie's poster is generally a bad idea.

Looks like Zombie is infusing this with his own brand of gritty and making it as "his own" as he can... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and my money.
