Hulk 2 up to you Jun. 17, 2008

If like me you loved THE INCREDIBLE HULK, you're very interested in what direction the franchise goes. And turns out if director Louis Leterrier has his way, we might just be deciding what that direction is.

"I think that if we get to ‘Hulk 2′ I would go to Comic-Con and ask the crowd of people that actually love the movies, which one would you prefer to see, Samson or the Leader?”

Apparently, Leterrier said that he would prefer The Leader, since it would make for a completely different final showdown than what we've already seen:

“Both are very interesting. [But] there’s something unstoppable about [Leader] and it’s just not the same thing. It’s just different,” he said of the super-brilliant character played in the film by Tim Blake Nelson. “The fact that he controls stuff with his mind, I just like that.”

So what do you guys think? I know it's a little out there, but I'm gonna add to The Leader and Samson as potential sequel villains; Ang Lee. I know, he might not have the raw power to fight The Hulk, but he's evil enough. I mean, you know: Hulk dogs and all.

Extra Tidbit: Leterrier believes that The Hulk should be the villain in the AVENGERS movie. What say you to that?

Skip Hulk 2 and go straight to Avengers. Have them chase him and eventually join them.

The way I see it, Samson can be a villian in Hulk 2, but not the main one. I kind of see it like The Leader operating behind the scenes (in the shadows), maybe orchestrating lots of mayhem and strife on Banner's part. And then maybe have him become the fully-fledged villian in a third Hulk. For the second there should be some looming threat and Banner and Samson have to put aside their differences and overcome together.

In the same vain, I'd say Hulk as a villian in Avengers would be good, but only if toward the end they use him to defeat a bigger threat. Maybe a la The Ultimates book (Volume 1). Where they drop Banner out of a plane to destroy an alien threat when he transforms into the Hulk!!! Very Nice!

I'd go with Leader as well. Hulk as a bad guy sounds cool to me. I want to see hulk pimp slap the shit out of Spider Man.

After that scene from the movie I can't imagine them not using the Leader in the next hulk movie. And wikipedia says Roth is contracted for another film, so it's possible the abomination might be making a return, which I kind of suspected after seeing the movie.
I don't think the hulk should be the villian of the Avengers, but perhaps having him in a battle with them to start the film would be pretty sweet.

It's very plausible that both villains could appear in the same film. Both have different powers and wouldn't detract from one another. Even though the best superhero movies seem to focus on the development of one or two characters, now that the first movie established the Bruce Banner/Hulk character, the second film could concentrate on how Bruce choses to use his powers to protect people while dealing with these new different threats.

As for the Avengers..... The only redeming scene in the animated Avengers movie was the one involving Hulk vs the Avengers. That being said, I hope they include a similar scence, although I don't know if he needs to be the central villain, let alone whether or not people will respond positively to him being the films main threat. (Although the Skrull would be a bit much)

I think you guys got me wrong. I was also in the minority who liked Ang Lee's Hulk, and I am psyched to see this new one. It's not preventing me at all from seeing it - quite the opposite actually. But from what I've heard this one picks up where the last one left off more or less with different actors. Which is ok with me. I just there's something incorrect with looking forward to a "second hulk movie".

Hopefully I'll get out to the theater soon to see it.

nope tylerj, The Incredible Hulk isnt a sequal at all. It's more or less a re-start to the franchise. They skip time re-explaining over how he became the Hulk through the gamma radiation. Instead the intro credits show it in a short montage shown as flashbacks.

So the events in the 2003 Hulk never happened in the universe the The Incredible Hulk takes place in.

I thought "The Incredible Hulk" was a great summer movie, and overall a success, despite a few glaring plot holes.

Have Modok as the villain. Or Mr Hyde. Norton would have to come back of course, or don't bother w/ a sequel.

Having him as a villain in the Avengers movie would be the shit, by the way. And I would like to see Hulkbusters too, funded by Stark.

Hell, the whole "World War Hulk" storyline, modified for a film of course, would be the shit to see on screen.

Samson a villain? I'm confused.

I would like to see leader. you set him up so good in the first one where Samsons scenes seem to be mostly cut out. Plus Samsons power is pretty lame. The longer his hair the stronger he is. Im hip for Hulk being the bad guy in avengers these are my predictions which seem pretty obvious: Either they fight him first then they have to fight a greater threat and hulk fights along side them, or he fights with them then turns angry again and they must fight him in the final battle.
