Jaa wrestles croc Jul. 3, 2009

Thai action super star Tony Jaa is one crazy bastard. Not because he crafts insane action and fight scenes and not because he completely lost his shit during production of ONG BAK 2, went on some pilgrimage to conjure black magic then appeared out of nowhere on Thai national television crying, after which he proceeded to make ridiculous demands on the film's financiers before finishing production. No, these things are pretty par for the course for a movie star. What makes him absolutely batshit is that in the new French trailer the folks at "Twitch" recently uncovered for ONG BAK 2, this motherfucker's seen wrestling a live goddamn crocodile! Check it out below. The film hits stateside on October 23rd. The player window says "Preview not available" for some reason but it should still play.

Extra Tidbit: Jaa's real name is Panom Worawit.

I thought it was barely watchable. I fast forwarded to the action scenes, which, I admit were bad-fucken-ass, well, like 2 or 3 of them were anyway.

Anyways, despite this the film ranks as one of the best Martial Arts films ever with me :) Amazing and Jaa is just mental!

Saw the movie through some... ahem..."not so legal" channels. But I have to say this, this movie BLOWS away Ong Bak 1 and Tom Yun Goong outta the water in terms of fighting action. Jaa gets to branch out more, and go beyond the usual slow-mo knees and elbows. Sure the plot is barely there as always, but that's always been the case for Tony Jaa movies, so why expect it now??? Weird cliffhanger ending though.

The movie is out here in Shanghai already, with english subs... And it sucks badly. The story is terrible, so is Jaa's directing. LOWER! YOUR! EXPECTATIONS! You will be more disappointed then you were with Matrix 2&3 ...

***** MILD SPOILER ALERT ******

I have to point out here, Omar. Jaa doesn't wrestle the croc, it's actually the young actor playing his younger self or his stuntman or whatever. It doesn't make the film any less awesome, more so in fact. I really loved this movie, it features alot of different styles, kung fu, muay thai, drunken boxing, taekwondo, kendo, etc. It was really cool to see alot of different styles in one movie which didn't remove anything from the authenticity or look of the overall film. Very awesome and I'm looking forward to the third. Jaa is indeed a very talented man, despite the fact he may very well been an arsehole.

still hasn't come to the states? I got it on pirated dvd months ago. The action is about the craziest and yet the most realistic looking I've seen. The medieval Thai ambiance is very cool, and the weapons are outlandish. The story doesn't count for very much, but it doesn't matter. Jaa really is something else. And i wonder how many of his co-actors end up in hospital, the hits they take are brutal.
