We don't normally cover a lot of TV news here, but this is of interest for a couple of reasons:

1.) It's based on a movie, and

2.) It concerns the transcendently gorgeous Jordana Brewster.

It seems as though the divine Ms. Brewster will be playing the titular Mrs. Smith in the TV pilot for MR. & MRS. SMITH, based on the vapidly smug Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie action flick about a married couple who are secretly undercover assassins for vague covert agencies. The potential series will reportedly pick up six months after the idiotic explosion-filled events of the film, as the wedded killers continue to struggle with their marriage while filling random humans full of hollow point rounds.

The pilot is being put together by the same people who so desperately tried to convince me I should be entertained by the movie's smirky stars and pyrotechnic overkill, but at least they have a remarkably alluring actress locked and loaded for the small screen.

She looks enough like Jolie that I'd be willing to buy it. Maybe they'll do the same thing for Brad Pitt's guy and get the guys behind Dark Angel for this, since that's still one of the better massive shootout TV shows I've seen.

Oh, and Pistolero, me chum? Don't even bother worrying -- SCC is gonna suck right off the bat and will probably last half a season at most.

Before the movie there was already a series named Mr and MRs Smith with Scott Bakula and Tea leoni 8i think). Look it up.

If this is successful then history will repeat itself and TV shows will be based on popular movies instead of so-so TV shows being turned into movies.

I enjoyed the movie, don't get me wrong. I didn't love it, but it was still an enjoyable to fill in 2 hours or so. But a TV series? Given the source material, I'm skeptical.

Hell, I'm even skeptical about The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and we all how awesome the background mythology for that is.
