Unfortunately I couldn't fit the actual story in the headline because it is a corker. Apparently there's a chance that the dinosaurs in JURASSIC PARK 4 may be - and I swear this is the rumor - kitted out with weapons by the US government. I'll give you a moment to return your face from 'what the f*ck?' to normal.

Back? Okay, so yes, that's the rumor. Is there a chance this will be good? Well I enjoyed DINO-RIDERS as much as the next guy so I'll give the thing a shot, even if the rumor does turn out to be true. Surprisingly, there actually is some 'good news' in this story; there was originally word that one of the ideas for this movie might revolve around a group of soldiers that were genetically crossed humans and dinosaurs. And dinosaurs with guns is better than that, right? Plus, William Monahan is co-writing the script and he's probably one of the best writers in Hollywood right now. In other news, Laura Dern is alleged to have confirmed her involvement and the sequel to CONGO will feature killer apes schooled in the art of the nunchuck.

Extra Tidbit: The guy who proposed the idea of the human/dinosaur mutants was none other than John Sayles (the movie's other co-writer).

Why God, WHY?
I cant take it. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie...of all time! The Lost World... not as good but still had some Michael Crichton essense to it. JP3...same storyline as the second movie...and dont kid yourself, it was. Leave it alone. I dont get it. You know. JP is now almost 15 years old. If they would just leave it alone, i bet they could re release the origional or remake the origi...

But no, Hollywood is impatient. They have that history. Why make a good script? Lets just special effect the hell out of this bastard and people will like it. Holy hell, I majored in special 3D effects in college and I don't even like to see overkill. Ok, thats my rant.

To sum up... Jurassic Park good. Hollywood bad. Rerelease in 5 years. Make money then.

I don't really see why people are taking this news seriously at all. Jurassic Park been a joke ever since the first one, so why not just go ahead and make the fourth one the greatest joke of all time?

yer, this idea has been talked about for about 2-3 years. a majority bagged out this idea as stupid. WHICH IT IS! what joke! it would completely ruin the entire franchise! Havent they learned anything from Jurassic Park 3! Get Spielberg back in the directors seat, and Michael Crichton to write a fourth book! that would be great! The book Jurassic Park is sooo good. I love the whole surprise that the dinosaurs have on screen their size and weight - and power! We need a story set perhaps in a different location - say the desert where all dinos dont escape but something else large and menacing happens - perhaps dino dna mi...

I'm really pulling for this guns and dinos idea. I've always wanted to see a live action Dino-Riders movie, and nothing will ever come closer to it than this. If they put the brain boxes into the story, this may well be one of the greatest movies ever made.

This is a good pair of writers but the idea sounds bad.

Here's another idea they might work on as well though... Proposed story ideas included the discovery of a deadly prehistoric disease that the revival of the dinosaurs inflicted and which threatens to wipe out the entire human race. According to IMDB. Sounds better but nothing to do with the franchise really.

Jurassic Park was the first thing I obsessed over as a kid, even before STAR WARS. I have so many memories from JP...DON'T RUIN IT WITH THIS SHIT, seriously.

I do like that bit about a sequel to Congo though, as long as THEY aren't given rocket launchers and machine guns.

I also heard that Dino and the Great Gazoo will be making an appearance in this movie along side The Grape Ape and Magilla Gorilla!!!... They will be shooting it out with the gun equipped dinosaurs!!

This rumor was addressed a long, long time ago, I believe on aint it cool news, and I think with direct quotations from darabont, or with direct reference to his version of the script incorporating those elements.

Either way, I think it sounds a bit kooky, although I'd see any big budget dino movie, especially a jurassic park sequel.

Hey, while they're in the midst of turning the Jurassic Park series into a completely ridiculous joke that isn't as funny, might as well throw in Aliens who come to earth and befriend the dinos, then predators come along and destroy Aliens, befriend dinosaurs, genetically modify them to turn into Dinobots that transform into Transformers! Right?

this reminds me a lot like Turok remember the game with dinosaurs with guns well. I liked jurassic park 3 and the lost world, but this souns kinda stupid. I think I'll wait and see.
