Leaked TDK Prologue! Dec. 16, 2007

Well, it only took a day for the prologue (shown before IMAX screenings of I AM LEGEND) to THE DARK KNIGHT to hit the web. Unfortunately while the video quality is passable, the audio is not great at all. I say unfortunately because even if I told you some guy's big fat head was blocking half the screen, you're still not gonna be able to help yourself watching it, are you? Still, I would recommend that you don't; you could get away with the trailer we saw yesterday, but this is slightly more worse for wear. As such, I will remain like this: deadpan and unenthusiastic, so as not to make you want to see how the awesome Joker came to be so awesome, so that hopefully you can fight your urges and see how awesome this thing is in high-definition, some awesome time soon. Check it out below if you're as weak as me:

Extra Tidbit: Nolan once commented that he draw major inspiration from HEAT. Yep, totally see that now.

I feel as if my expectations for this have already been exceeded. Being a proud owner of HEAT on DVD, I can easily see the similarities. If it weren't for the clown masks, one could have assumed this was a Michael Mann film. As he did with BB, Nolan is committed to making not just a great superhero movie, but a great movie period. Love the darker, broodier, realistic feel. While I was a little skeptical of Ledger initially, I was willing to give him a shot. From those 6 minutes, I can tell my faith will be rewarded. Judging from the violence, it seems as if Nolan & co are going to push the PG-13 envelope as far as they can, and good for them.

IS this going to be put online at any point or will it only be shown in IMAX? I'm up for the 1 hour drive to the IMAX but if I can just watch it on my computer, that works even better.

I am a little pissed because you didn't use the codename like Harry, but this is a deliciously awesome prologue. It's making me rethink going to see Big Willie on IMAX because this is just fucking brilliant. Billy Fichtner as a sleazebag? Shock! Kurt Wimmer must be the only person that likes him. You can really feel the HEAT (no pun intended) with this sequence.

"He killed the school bus driver." THAT'S The Clown Prince of Crime right there.

I had doubts about Heath Ledger when Nolan announced he was playing The Joker, but I put my trust in the man's creative decision...it's looking like the faithful shall be rewarded.

The bank managers expression, after looking at The Joker's face, makes the whole scene even creepier.

As I said before, WB should release prologue and trailer online officialy. Other countries don't have IMAX theaters, so they need to stick with YouTube version?
