Peep This: Red Rabbit
Some of the best animation out there isn't always what you see at your local multiplex. While Pixar gets a lot of praise, and rightly so, there are a number of independent animators creating some truly magical work out there. Case in point: German student Egmont Meyer. He created the short "Red Rabbit" as his final project for his studies at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. There's actually a pretty touching metaphor here that a lot of us can probably relate to.
The film is described my Meyer as such: "A man lives alone in a small apartment. The little contact he had with other people has dropped to zero since the rabbit appeared. Every attempt to get the rabbit out of his apartment has failed and since he is not sure whether or not pets are allowed in the building, he does not let anybody enter his apartment." So what happens when a nosy, and cute, neighbor comes by asking to borrow sugar?...
