Proyas to direct Surfer?
Do we want a SILVER SURFER movie? I still haven't seen the FANTASTIC FOUR sequel but I've heard universally poor reviews. Still, even if I had hated X3 (which I didn't) I'd still be looking forward to the WOLVERINE movie (which I am). Similarly, a brand new movie, under brand new direction offers brand new possibilities for the Surfer, so I'm totally on board. Especially when the director apparently being tapped for the project is Alex Proyas (DARK CITY).
Here's the description of the Surfer's story, from Wikipedia:
Norrin Radd was a young astronomer of the planet Zenn-La. In order to save his homeworld from destruction by a fearsome cosmic entity known as Galactus, Norrin made a bargain with the being, pledging himself to serve as its herald. Imbued in return with a small portion of Galactus' Power Cosmic, Norrin acquired great powers, and a silvery appearance. He created for himself a surfboard-like craft — modeled after a childhood fantasy of his — on which he would travel at speeds beyond that of light. Known from then on as the Silver Surfer, Norrin began to roam the cosmos searching for new planets for Galactus to consume. When his travels finally took him to Earth, the Surfer came face-to-face with the Fantastic Four, a team of powerful superheroes that helped him to rediscover his nobility of spirit. Betraying Galactus, the Surfer saved Earth but was punished in return with everlasting exile there.

And coixx, Wentworth millers voice is absolutely unimpressive -- (As in it makes no impression on one). And frankly, I don't think they could have gotten a better voice unless James Earl Jones had done it--Then again, I never read the comics so I don't know the character's true ...

And frankly, I don't think they could have gotten a better voice unless James Earl Jones had done it--Then again, I never read the comics so I don't know the character's true persona-- However if he's anywhere near as dour and dark as he was in FF4-2, then I can't imagine a better voice.

I wouldn't mind the movie as long as it took place before he (S.S.) came to Earth. Maybe have it be about life before and after he gains his powers. And end it with him heading towards Earth.

PLEASE LET IT BE TRUE!!!
But no, I don't want Fishburne back. His voice is just not right for the Silver Surfer. It's too regal, too deep, too "distracting." Someone else, less prolific.
