Ladies and gentlemen, I have the official first nomination for the "who gives a shit" award this year: The planned sequel to RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION is set for a September 17, 2010. That means cancel your bbq's, ditch your overweight sister at the prom, and tell your mother you'll cut her toe nails some other time. This is a must-see event. Director Paul W.S. Anderson revealed late last year that he was indeed writing the next film in the awkward series which is tentatively titled RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE. The story will shift to Tokyo, Japan, which means we should all simultaneously crap our pants in anticipation. That, or eat a Vietnamese sub, otherwise known as a banh mi.

I really wish Resident Evil wasn't being handled by Paul W.S. Anderson. I'm a huge fan of the game franchise and all he did was make garbage of it on the big screen. Step off Paul!!! You suck!!!!!!!

The first one was entertaining because it deviated from the game's plot. Then they tried to add the Nemesis in the second movie, and he was retarded. And don't get me started on Mike Epps as comic relief. And then the third movie rolled around, with its stupid Mad Max plotline (the T-Virus is a BIOLOGICAL WEAPON; why the hell would it kill the plants, etc). Who knows? This one might not complet...

a 4th RE may not be that bad of a thing... i liked 1 and 2 was ok... i'll spare yall on my thoughts of 3... but really 4 could be a new story which wouldnt be a bad thing... not saying 3 was so fucked up the series needs a reboot... just didnt like 3.... i actually like the first 2 RE films cause they are their own story yet they throw in enough from the game that it didnt seem like it had not...

The only one i halfway liked was the first installment. i would not be as upset if they didnt slap the "RE" tag on these movies because they dont live up to the games. What we needed from the first place was a movie that really captured the "oh shit im going to die" creepy atmosphere from the games. One of my favorite vidya game franchises but i avoid the movies

My biggest problem with these movies are the contradictionss to proper zombie lore. Example: Apparently you can kill a zomie by cutting it's throat. Not severing the head but just cutting the throat. That bugged the shit out of me.

Even if they aren't the best zombie films, or if they don't stick to the video games storyline at all, they still entertain.

I love me some Zombie movies, so it doesn't matter if this one will blow or not, I will still watch it.

Lets ignore this movie (which shouldn't be a problem). Then we can wait half a decade or more and hopefully get a reboot worthy of the resident evil title. Such a waste of what could've have been a great film franchise.

I happen to love the resident evil films minus the second one, which many disliked including milla. I do not understand why everyone has to put it down because it is not a faithful adation to the game series. Also paul anderson is not becoming like uwe boll, paul is still making good movies, like death race, and his AVP was a heck of a lot better than AVP Requiem. RE:4 will be great, and people will see it.

Being a fan of the video games, I got really excited when I first heard they were going to make a RESIDENT EVIL movie. Until I actually saw it. Then I watched as they continued to butcher it with a second, and a third, now a fourth? These movies seriously need to be rebooted and done properly.

I love the games, I grew up playing them and I never got why they never based the films on the games, the plot and characters are already there. I brought the new game on the first day it came out and me and my friend pulled an all nighter and played it from start to finish and I can honestly say I'll be nowhere near a cinema when this unholy steaming turd splats on screens.

Anyone who likes these movies must not be a fan of the games. The games are some of the best zombie stories told in any media, and Sony butchered them by hiring that douche Paul WS Anderson THREE TIMES! I don't know why that guy is still alive, let alone making films. This is why you shouldn't have any faith in Sony doing a decent Uncharted film. They killed Resident Evil, they killed Spider-Ma...

They killed Resident Evil, they killed Spider-Man, and they will most likely kill Ghostbusters by hiring Judd Apatow cast members to act as replacements. Now they've green lit a Resident Evil 4, no suprise there. They are almost as bad as Fox, who also hired Anderson when he screwed up Alien vs. Predator (a concept so unscrewable by nature). So yeah, screw this crap. Wake me up when they reboot the franchise or release another Degeneration CG film.

It's mindless fun. At least you go into it with low expectations and just watch, rather than Transformers 2 or Terminator Salvation high expectations and get disappointed. I did like those two movies though, didnt love, but liked. Ill probably like Resident Evil 4 too. They serve their purpose.
