NOT IN ANYWAY
In no way am I a misogynist i dont hav a hatred or mistrust of women. Im saying that if you ask most women what there favorite movie is or the best movuie ever made you are going to get answers of Legally Blonde, Steel Magnolias (actually good but not super great) and some other crap like Travelling Pants. See most guys wont answer with The Pacifier or Alvin and the Chipmunks bc nobody would believe you and you would lose all cred. Most women have never seem Godfather or Lawrence of Arabia or Heat or the Usual Suspects why? Maybe because they have bad taste and only want to watch a certain kind of movie with certain actors regardless if its good or not. So they continue the success and making of crap bc they watch no matter how bad the reviews.
So SUGARONTOP why is fools gold and 27 dresses so successful after being critically so bad? Is it bc a bunch of guys wanted to see the girl get the guy in the end? Dont think so. |

Dude, get your facts right. God forbid I am not trying to stand for J-Lo, but MONSTER IN-LAW didn't "tank". It was actually a hit. It cost 45M to make and grossed 83M in North America alone. And worldwide figure was 155M.
The next two films (UNFINISHED LIFE and EL CANTANTE) bombed so bad. That's true. And BOREDERTOWN is still in limbo. |

"Lopez will play a professional thief who disguises herself as a nanny to ripoff a wealthy widower. Now let's see if you can guess the end of the story."
LMAO - That line was comedy gold! lmao
(Lopez isn't all that great anyway. Her role in El Cantante is fairly easily replaceable. She only got the job because of the fact that she is or was (who knows these days) married to Marc Anthony.) |

People tend to think that she mostly make this type of movies because they are her most succeful at the box-office when this will only be her third rom-com. Her last 2 released in the state "An unfinished life" which was really good and "El cantante" were Dramas they showed what a good actress she really is.. |

BEST ROLE TO DATE IS
I personally couldn't give 2 craps about this supposed *talent* Her whole "Jenny from the block" song & persona must have been laughed at by those that see what a joke she is now. Too bad she's been caught up in the whole fame thing. If herself from the good ol' "In Living Color" days she saw how snobbish & arrogant she has become, (can't figure out why exactly) saw her now she would tell herself to be thankful for being one of the few that has made it (Financially that is) so stop being a prude little b*tch already. I 1st saw her in the movie "Selena" and she wasn't great but she did make the movie. It's too bad that she thought by making a movie about a singer, she could automatically sing in real life! I respect her work ethic, but she sure could use some actual acting classes thrown in for good measure. If she really wants some respect, she needs to dig deep and play a flawed character just as Jackie Earle Haley did (he received an Oscar Nom for his portrayl in "Little Children.") so that she can be seen as a serious actress & not just a Box office draw, which has now diminished. Here's hoping, too bad she seems to be stuck. |

Honestly, if she really wanted to make a "comeback", she should be looking for a part in a comedy where she could play someone evil, or a caricature of herself. |

Thank you for that correction, Captain Planet. While J.Lo. is not really my cup of tea as an actress, and I rarely enjoy rom coms, "Monster-In-Law" was hardly a bust. How odd to think it so.
And wow, "cricker," you aren't a misogynist or anything are you? Eep.

OF COURSE
Of course she will do a romantic comedy bc most women have crap taste. How else do yo explain the success of Fools Gold or 27 Dresses even though critics bash them? Women will go see anything with as long as their favorite star is in it no matter how good or bad. Got a girl who wont watch a movie you want to see tell her katherine heigl is in it and I bet her reception changes. See guys wont support the Rock bc he now makes crap, we might like him but we dont pay to watch him do little kid movies. They will finance the movie for like 40 million(bc at least crap is cheap to make) and it will make 75 thats why. Suckers! |
