There was a time when I was obsessed with Jean-Claude Van Damme, when I would go to sleep mumbling 'go for the gut... he's soft there...', when my sole ambition in life was to do the splits across two chairs. But alas, he fell from grace and the void he left in my life was filled up by others who couldn't do the splits across two household appliances, but who could still whip some ass, and who could speak English without hemorrhaging.
