Strike Back below!
by: James Thoo Mar. 11, 2008

There was a time when I was obsessed with Jean-Claude Van Damme, when I would go to sleep mumbling 'go for the gut... he's soft there...', when my sole ambition in life was to do the splits across two chairs. But alas, he fell from grace and the void he left in my life was filled up by others who couldn't do the splits across two household appliances, but who could still whip some ass, and who could speak English without hemorrhaging. Now though, we've gotten this trailer for his new 'film', JCVD, and guess what? It looks absolutely brilliant. Check it out in our video section, by clicking BELOW!

Thanks to Co Hesie for the tip!

Extra Tidbit: Van Damme has gone through wives like nobody's business, having been married five times so far!

Best trailer of the year so far
Other movies might be far more anticipated, but a new Van Damme film is a far, far tougher sale than, for example, the return of Indiana Jones or something. That everyone I've showed this trailer to is now bugging me for info on any American release for the film speaks volumes about the quality of this trailer and hopefully the film as well. I can't wait for this to come out.

Hey!
This actually looks good for a Van Damme movie. It seems to have him addressing his career and the fact that he's getting older which is pretty interesting (especially considering Live Free or Die Hard and the new Indiana Jones). I'll probably make an effort to see this when it hits DVD.

I've never been a fan of his at all, expect for maybe liking Timecop whenever I got it on video and that certainly wasn't because of him. I've pretty much lumped him in with Steven Seagal as being death to cinema (although at least Seagal had Under Siege, and maybe one other decent one).
Regardless, I'm shocked I actually want to see this. Feels like something Donald Kaufman would write...

Ah!
This movie reeks of feces and bodily waste. Van Damaged is the tool of tools. Soon we will be seeing a Steven Seagal biopic "SS" and a Chuck Norris biopic "CN". Just D list trash.

Same here, no JCVD love in years since Sudden Death i believe. But the tone of this one, half documentary/half fiction seems like a pretty good idea.

Um... Wow.
I don't think I've seen a JCVD film since I walked out of "Knock Off" which is, to this day, probably the only film I've ever walked out of in the theater... That said, "Time Cop" is pretty f'in cool... plus we got the benefit of Mia Sara's cans in that one.

Anyway, all of that is to say that, while I have no idea what this movie is actually supposed to be about, I think it look...
