Strike Back below!

The DVD release of STAR TREK is almost upon us (Nov. 17th), and what better way to celebrate it than a rather important deleted scene from the film, brought to you by Spike TV.

It’s the Klingon interrogation of Eric Bana’s Nero, which was hinted at, but never shown in the film. As you can see above, we get our first look at what Klingons look like in Abrams-world, and I actually really dig their execution masks. Also, we get to see where the hell that scene went where Nero says “The wait is over,” which showed up in the trailer, but not in the actual movie.

I can see why they cut the scene, as it seems a bit out of place from the rest of the film, but I look forward to presumably seeing more of the Klingons in the forthcoming sequel.

Extra Tidbit: There's quite a lot of Predator in the Klingons, no?

Klingons wearing masks, hilarious and makes no sense. Come up with a new alien race if you want to depart that much from what Klingons are all about: Honour and pride, not hiding behind masks.

The movie itself was almost as bad as Nemesis. The problem: Directors who do not know or care about this universe.

it was a [link] etc of the original series. stop bitching. there is no reason for them to look just like they did in TNG or anything else.

Wow. Worst. And Laziest. Makeup. Ever.

What do you expect from a guy who isn't even a fan of the series? Maybe he can go fuck up Star Wars next....I mean moreso than Lucas has already.

Lame? Damn, you guys are harsh. I thought the scene was badass, and I thought the design for he Klingons was cool too.

Lame. Looks like Predator meets Darth Vader. And when have the Klingons ever worn helmets? It just doesn't seem to fit with their philosophy.

I dunno. It's a shame the scene was cut, since it creates a major plot hole, but if this was the best they could do design-wise ... yeesh.

I'm glad it was left out. It not only just doesn't really work, but it makes the Klingons seem a little weak. When they are introduced they should be similar to the Next Generation Klingons - burly, deep voices, big forehead crests. No way a Romulan who just got tortured takes down two Klingon guards like that

Bad. Ass.
Absolutely should've kept this scene in. WTF?!

One criticism: the voice of the only speaking Klingon isn't nearly as menacing as it should've/could've been. Since he's never seen without his mask, Abrhams should've gotten Michael Dorn to do a cameo. Would've been well worth it.

Ahh well...
