Update: The final picture of Heath Ledger of the Joker has been revealed at Batman-on-film. If you want to check it out for yourself, do so HERE, but if you want it revealed from the website mentioned below, it might be more fun that way.
So I just found out a few days ago that apparently the villain in the THE DARK KNIGHT is going to be the Joker, and that he’s going to be played by Heath Ledger, of all people. Go figure. Now the ending of BATMAN BEGINS, when Gordon shows Bats the joker card, all makes sense! At the time I was all ‘a joker card? Could you be any more obtuse?’
It looks like Warner Bros. wants the rest of the world to know who Batman will be doing battle with next as well, but they’re doing it in the subtlest of ways. Superherohype.com were the lucky recipients of a scoop regarding hidden joker cards in a comic books store somewhere in SoCal. As you can see from the pic BELOW, the cards are defaced by ‘haha’ and the slogan ‘I believe in Harvey Dent too.’ The scribblings were not hand-written, but appeared instead to be stamped with them, leading us to believe that this can only be a guerilla marketing campaign from Warner Bros., and a bloody creepy one at that.
And just in case you’re wondering the meaning behind the 'I believe in Harvey Dent too’ slogan, here’s the lowdown: a few days ago, WB launched a mock-up site for Harvey Dent’s DA campaign, with ‘I believe in Dent’ as its slogan. But now it appears that a certain white-faced, red-lipped, green-haired psychopathic prankster has defaced Dent’s campaign with his own website, Ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com. Once there, you can enter your e-mail and the code below. Then go to your e-mail account, click on the link sent to you, and enter in the X & Y coordinates of the pixel given to you, and watch as the pixel is removed from the banner to reveal the image underneath. Enough pixels have been removed to almost make out the hidden image. Ladies and gentlemen, I think you all know whose sunken eyes those are staring back at you. The moment we've all been waiting for appears to have finally arrived.
Extra Tidbit:
Kudos Warner Bros., for a brilliant marketing campaign.

IT WAS ME...
I told not specifically you to shut the fuck up, but ALL the whining fanboys, and not so fanboys, who just come to bash the shit out of anything they already don't really care about.
The 1989 Tim Burton "masterpiece" BATMAN, upon almost 18 years of review, is a massive chunk of shit. When I was 14 and the film first came out on June 23rd, 1989, I liked it and thought it was cool. A few years later, upon futher viewings, I could see the hell that was Keaton's performance as both Bruce Wayne AND Batman, Jack being embarrassingly over-the-top, a pathetic script, awful, unfinished and unpolished direction and a good set design. I will never understand how people can actually look at that film and still defend it. Look closely at some of the scenes when he's in the Batwing. There are toggle switches that say "VOLUME" on it. That's not just bad, that's really fucking sloppy. Nolan is awesome. MEMENTO, BB, THE PRESTIGE. Burton and Schumacher, for the most part, blow. And there are far too many films those guys have made to list as negatives. |

I really hope Nolan has something good up his sleeve, FilmFreak, and he usually seems to come through like gangbusters. I have liked (or loved) every film he has made so far. Thanks for your reply and sorry for any strong words. I'm really excited about this film.

peace, love, and understanding? Glad you guys made up. After all, getting p.o.'d at each other is not going to effect the product anyways. They make their millions whether its good or not. Us Schmoes don't count for that much. |

Sorry gyro_44, I thought it was you who said that to me. You do have a point. Nolan would'nt make a stupid mistake. He must have something good up his sleeve. |

FILMFREAK, PLEASE READ:
Ummm, when did I ever tell you to shut the fuck up? Of course you have the right to your opinion, we just happen to STRONGLY disagree.
Exactly how stupid do you think Christopher Nolan is? Do you think he cast Ledger just because he's a pretty boy, only to make him a grotesque villain? That doesn't make any sense. Obviously Ledger is bringing a certain something to the role, and Nolan thinks so, or else he wouldn't have been cast. Why the FUCK would Ledger have been cast if he has no interest in playing the part properly? Are you saying he's going to sabatoge the movie? Like, how about an iota of common sense in some of these ramblings?
You seriously think Ledger is the worst actor working today? Personally I think he has some real growth lately as an actor, and I can't wait to see what he does with this role. Obviously he wasn't the first choice in anyone's head, but frankly I think calling him the worst actor working today is utterly ridiculous. Just my opinion. I guess that means I have "issues".
Once again, Ledger obviously DOES have an interest in the part or else he WOULD. NOT. HAVE. BEEN. CAST.
You're right... maybe this will work, and maybe it won't. We are going to have to wait and see. I'm going to be putting a lot more faith in Ledger (and in Nolan, because you apparently think he's a douchebag) than you. I remain very optimistic about the whole project. |

A SAD SAD DAY...
...Turns out that the pic of the "JOKER" is real. Superherohype.com has just confirmed it. Maybe this will work, maybe it wont, But i need to see a trailer before I pass anymore judgement. Its not really the new look of him that pisses me off, The problem is Heath Ledger, How can someone play a character they have no interest in? The great thing about the joker is that comic fan or not, Everyone knows who he is, And when i look at this new pic you dont get the "THATS THE JOKER" image in your head. If i was to show this pic to someone they would say what the fuck is that! I wish nolan would have stayed more true to the jokers look. I know there is art by Lee Bermejo, Check out this link for the pic (http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/r age/images/060604/jokercover.jpg) and this link (http://users.static.freeblog.hu/p/a/n/p anelblog/files/pics_joker/bermejo_joker1 .jpg) Who drew the joker with a CUT SMILE but it looks cool unlike this crap that Heath Ledger looks like. |

GYRO_44 AND DEADSHOT
First off, Dont tell me to shut the fuck up. Look at Heath Ledger for a sec. Here is a asshole who says in a interview in wizard magazine that he hates comics and hates comic book movies and hates the joker character. So why the fuck would nolan cast this fucking prick as the joker when he is completly uninterested in the character? It just dosent make sense. And no I wont be seeing it if i dont like what i see from trailers and pictures of this movie. This guy is the worst actor in movies and anyone who thinks this guy is going to pull off playing THE JOKER has issues. And batman begins was no were as dark as BATMAN was, I love Bale as a actor, and i liked batman begins, but he just dosent sound or look right in that very crappy looking batman costume. One more thing, I like batman a lot, And i read his comics but im not a big fanboy of him. I only wish that every comic looked like the 1989 batman film or frank millers batman then i would be a big fanboy. I guess its the whole running around with robin thing. I just never liked robin, To me he was always a pesty little shit head and had no buisness teaming up with batman. |

AWESOME.
There's automatically a polarization of fans when you get something like this. People are gonna be pissy, people are going to love it. People that get pissy about it, I have determined, have little to no imagination. They can't see beyond the page, beyond the drawing, which is why so many people were screaming for Crispin Fucking Glover to play the Joker... because he looks like him. Are you really going to compare the talent of Heath Ledger to Crispin Glover? There is no comparison. People that love it (like myself) have faith in the filmmakers and the project. So suck it up if you hate it. Or just don't fucking see it. But you know you will, so shut the fuck up. |
