Apparently, Jonah Hill is a much cooler guy than you probably thought. He spoke to MTV recently about what exactly happened with regards his reported role in TRANSFORMERS 2:
“I just think like I have to prove myself more in what I’m doing now, making comedies and stuff before I do the big action movie or something, you know? I’m not proven yet... I’ve only been in one movie that people have seen that I’ve been the lead in so like, um, I could still suck in people’s minds, they don’t know yet! It was very cool of them but I thought I should make some more comedies first, you know? I think it’s going to be an awesome movie. Unfortunately, I’m not in it.”
So great, on top of being richer and more famous than I am, he is also a lot more level-headed. If Michael Bay asked me to play a goblin with gender confusions, I'd be there in a heartbeat. And you know what? I'd rock that thing. Screw Jonah Hill. You think this makes him a cool guy? One time he tried to sell me crack, that's all I'm saying.
Extra Tidbit:
Hill also says he has a role for Johnny Depp in his 21 Jump Street project: “We have an awesome thing for Depp, if he’ll do it, I don’t know if he will or not, [but] it’s going to be rad!”

Proving himself? To who...the Golden Council Of Comedic Kings? If he had paid more attention to the first Transformers I'm pretty sure he would have realized that it's not that much of a dark, deep, and painfully serious movie. So this guy gets offered a role in f**kin' Transformers 2 for Pete's (whoever that is) sake, and he lets it down because he wants to prove himself in more 'comedic' roles? WTF, man? I smell a lil' fear of being overshadowed by Shia. Who the f**k denies a role in Transformers? Isn't that proving yourself enough...or doesn't it at least add this huge shinning star on your resume? Jeez.... |

this is bullshit. His role in TF2 was, undoubtedly, comic relief. It was a comedic role, something he has proven he can do. He is just being diplomatic and hiding the real reason why he bowed out. |
