The new teaser for the sardonic superhero flick KICK-ASS seems to do a decent job of getting the premise across: a geeky teen randomly decided to become a costumed vigilante, and kinda sucks at it.

SUPERBAD's Christopher Mintz-Plasse is a colorful competitor named Red Mist, and Nic Cage and Chloe Moretz play a violent father-daughter crimefighter team (Mark Strong is the gangster in their sights).

The flick comes from director Matthew Vaughn (STARDUST, LAYER CAKE), who independently financed the movie, based on the high-concept (and endlessly delayed) comic series by WANTED writer Mark Millar.

If the studio was smart, they'd get a red-band trailer out now with the Comic-Con footage. It's some of the most violent shit I've ever seen.

BTW, that kid is standing on top of the Royal Bank on Main Street in Toronto. My friend and I have walked past that building 1,000 times which makes that scene much funnier to me than it should.

Can't wait for this, I've read comics 1 to 7 and its totally kick-ass. Hope the movie is ultra Violent like the comic, the bootleg trailer seems to support this.
