Kill Bill in full Jun. 21, 2007

Quentin Tarantino undeniably makes some great movies, but he's not exactly what you'd call focused. Or reliable. He's been talking up KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR since 2005, promising a wide theatrical release with a blood-drenched NC-17 rating. Needless to say, we haven't seen that yet...

Will we finally see The Bride slice through the House of Blue Leaves in full crimson glory (as was released overseas)? Amazon has the 247-minute complete cut (which is still only the total runtime of the two existing films together, so who knows if this is a "director's cut" with additional footage) now listed for DVD release on November 6th of this year, in a loaded 4-disc package under the name KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR.

No specifics of special features have been announced, and there's no way to tell if that date is even remotely accurate given Tarantino's capricious nature and the aggravatingly sporadic release methodology of the Weinsteins (DEATH PROOF is listed with a Sept. 18th street date at the moment, though it'll no doubt be double or triple-dipped later). And considering I've waited this long anyway, I'll probably hold out for HD/Blu-Ray...

Thanks to 'Jay G.' for the tip!

Extra Tidbit: The sole deleted scene on the KILL BILL vol. 2 DVD features Michael Jai White (SPAWN) getting sliced up by David Carradine, who also plays a mean flute.

...there was a Kill Bill novel a long time ago. Was that for real? Did they have a finished book and just not release it? Or did Tarantino announce a book and just never get around to actually writing it?

If Kill Bill is ever released in a wide theatrical way with an NC-17 rating I will punch my own testicles.

That's not a comment on the films, just on the fact that it won't happen. Movie re-releases don't generate a lot of income in theaters. Everyone has seen these on DVD, HBO, and USA network. And after Grindhouse do you really think they'll release a 4 hour movie that, on top of that, is NC-17?? HAHA. Tarantino you amaze me with your repeated idiocy and bloated egotistical neck cancer you call a head.

That said, I'm down with the cool DVD set, as long as it's actually cool and not some crappy package of the two already released DVDs.

That 2 of the 4 discs are going to still be Vol's. 1 and 2 respectively, which is kind of upsetting unless it's like a LOTR special edition format and it's been edited to be one complete film, just on 2 discs... I'll still get it, probably, because I've been waiting for a deluxe edition of this to hit shelves which is why I haven't purchased the originals.
