Strike Back below!

Walking around New York City and almost being run over by bike messengers more times than I can count, I've always thought that in their heads, they're imaging they're the stars of some big-budget action movie. Deliver the Matrix of Awesomeness to the Chrysler Building in two minutes or the whole world dies!! And now, courtesy uber-screenwriter David Koepp, bike messengers can imagine no longer.

Koepp has signed on to direct PREMIUM RUSH based on a script he also wrote about a bike messenger who is delivering an envelope that a dirty cop and his crew are desperate to get their hands on. A wild chase ensues throughout the city and, presumably, many innocent bystanders are almost run over. Koepp previously directed SECRET WINDOW and GHOST TOWN making a big leap up with a project Sony envisions as a big-budget action flick. The studio is currently trying to find their lead bike messenger and has put the project on the fast-track.

Extra Tidbit: Koepp starred in THE LOST WORLD as "Unlucky Bastard."

Koepp is a great writer
Him and Fincher teaming up for PANIC ROOM was great, and SECRET WINDOW was tight. Koepp can make a movie about a bike messenger intense. Was the "Unlucky Bastard" the dude that got stepped on by the T-Rex?

No jack's wrong, like I said he was the one that gets plucked off the street while trying to enter a blockbuster or something ... he gets eaten, not stepped on (which happens on the island, not in san diego as koepp's scene does) ... you can even see a BTS photo on google if you do an image search.

Yeah! Bacon would be the old mentor messenger. He is stuck in a wheel chair due to a traumatic accident but helps our hero find short cuts giving him tips through his bluetooth.

he's a very good writer, heck he finally got spielberg and lucas on the same page, and to move forward on indy... even if the final product wasnt any good, thats something all by itself.

Pesonally this makes more sense to me than his previous directorial efforts, as most of his script work is for big budget action and adventure.

Also, didn't he direct stir of echo...

P.S. If anyones wondering, "Unlucky Bastard" is the guy who tries to run into blockbuster ( i think) before the t-rex grabs him and eats him.

Hmmm
This 'plot' seems to have a striking similarity to ULTIMATE RUSH - which is a book by Joe Quirk. Having RUSH in the title, and it being about a hunted bike messenger like the book make me think someone either got paid or someone is gonna get sued.
