What I liked is the idea behind KotCS. With Indy having aged about 10-20 more years and the story taking place in the 50's...it was fitting for the movie to be an homage to the 1950's sci-fi movies...as the previous 3 were an homage to the 1930's adventure serials, as they took place in the 1930's.
your exactly right. i now have new respect for the movie. i didnt enjoy it regardless
i wouldnt mind a new version of indy franchise...not sure shia is the man though

Ditto.
I loved KotCS and thought it was fun as hell. Yeah it's not perfect (Looking at you, Vine Swinging Labeouf) nor is it the best, but it definitely deserves it's spot along the Indiana Jones movies.

P.S. The South Park episode made me LOL, even if I liked KotCS |

I guess I am not the Only "Butters" Who Enjoyed KotCS. I thought It was a great Way to pass two Hours. I liked Having Indy back if just for a little bit. And Unlike so many of you I did not have my hopes up for it being The Indy MOvie to end all Indy movies.
But Then again I liked Temple of Doom Better then Raiders. But that is only because it was the first indy I saw as a child.
Bottom line those of you who saw Indy get "Raped" By Spielberg and Lucas...Get some Counseling..help is out there. It is time to live again...live! |

GIVE IT A REST!
First off, I'll just say that I thoroughly enjoyed Crystal Skull. Now it could be that its because I didn't build it up in my head to be the next return of Christ or it may just be that unlike so many of the hateful dicks and armchair critics that ruin this site, I'm not a joyless fuck.
That said, I 100% disagree with nodirectionhome and those who share his view. Maybe the reason you didn't enjoy the film isn't because Spielberg and Lucas have grown old, Maybe its because you have. I realized not too long ago that many of the movies I spent my childhood loving, I loved because I was a child. We all expect and desperately hope to be whisked away to the innocence of our youth, but no film will do that for you because your youth is gone and with it any resemblance of innocence. You've lived too long, seen too many movies and your ability to suspend disbelief has become as used up as a crusty condom. Stop blaming you're hang ups on movies people and blame your own lack of imagination.
This isn't a personal attack either, this is aimed at all of the haters here. Everytime a story comes up about a film, you come on here and moan and whine. give it a rest already, you guys cry foul before the picture is even in pre-production nowadays so don't tell me I'm over reacting.
Indy 4 wasn't bad, your expectations were just impossible. I suggest you stop watching sequels to films from your lost childhood, you won't feel that way again and spending your free time bitching about CGI won't ever bring it back.
That said, didn't we go through all of this garbage after the Star Wars prequels? Well, if you smacktards didn't learn your lesson that time around then Lucas deserves all of the hard earned money you blindly handed over and you've forfeited your right to complain about it. |

I couldnt have said it better.. these visionaries are now just old men who all of a sudden left their talent/vision at the door...
Not so much spielberg, still love his work, but Lucas? Man is a walking joke and takes himself too seriously
I enjoyed indy 4, until the end, sure the alien shit was the theme in the 50's, but uh, we're not in the 50's.... or am i on crack?
The first 3 may have been out there but there were NEVER any moments where i sat there and shook my head saying "wow this is retarded"
I mean seriously, there was a lot if retarded shit in indy 4 and Star Wars episodes 1-3
I think its time some people start hanging up their careers = i respect the shit outta Lucas but its time to go |

I was enjoying the hell out of Indy 4 until the spotlight moved off of Ford and onto LaBeouf. What were they thinking? We want to see Indiana Jones kicking ass and pushing the adventure forward, we don't want to see Indiana quietly follow along.
This is green because I'm happy the torch isn't being passed to LaBeouf. |
