Larry vs. Woody? Feb. 7, 2008

How much neuroses can you handle? You'll soon find out as the masters of the art form - Larry David and Woody Allen - are getting set to team up. Entertainment Weekly reports that David has signed on to star in Woody's next, still untitled, film. Also reportedly joining the cast is current Marilyn Manson plaything Evan Rachel Wood. No word on the plot but I'd imagine you're either already sold or already heading for ze hills based just upon the news that Larry David and Woody Allen are teaming up. That's either perfect or waaay too much. For me I love Larry David but can't dig on Woody Allen at all. I know that's gotta be some kind of contradiction but it is what it is. After a few trips abroad to London and Barcelona, Allen is back home in New York City where this film will take place (could it possibly take place anywhere else?). Allen's next film, VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA, is set for release next January from The Weinstein Company. David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (one of the finest comedies on TV) just wrapped its sixth season on HBO. Filming on the Woody/Larry project is scheduled to begin this spring.

Extra Tidbit: David guest starred on an episode of "Hannah Montana" titled "My Best Friend's Boyfriend." Seriously.

complaining and whining from living in NY most of my life. All I need now that Im away is a double fisted slap of these two saps crying about how much they have a problem with everyday life. What the #$#. Do people really want to see 2 hours of this? Go to a family reunion: its free. My ulcers are flaring up just typing this.

LD show is funny and WA has got some brilliant moments but c'mon hollywood.

This is definitely one of the coolest things I've read in a while. Instantly on my most anticipated list. Two of the greatest comedic writers ever coming together. It has to equal perfection.

I'd be somewhat excited for this but I just lost a ton of respect for Larry David after watching that Hannah Montana clip. Sad day...

There like two halves of one neurosis and I love it. Not to mention this sounds like a comedy, which...not counting Scoop...which I don't..Allen hasn't made a comedy in a long long time.

All I care about is it's a new Woody Allen movie. I'm not a big fan of Larry David - at ALL - but Woody Allen is a terrific director and a fun storyteller, and yes, I worship everything artistic that he does.
