I know that there was a poll a little while back, which showed (apparently) which films where the most anticipated of next year. And I know that THE DARK KNIGHT did an admirable second placing. But I also know that for me, and a LOT of you schmoes, there is not a single damn movie that I want to see ahead of the BATMAN BEGINS sequel. And a big part of that reason is seeing what Heath Ledger does with the Joker. Ledger spoke to the NY Times recently, largely about I'M NOT THERE, but also about his process for THE DARK KNIGHT: His joker is a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy... Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” he said. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.”

Apparently - and I think this is brilliant - he prepared for the role by meticulously collecting items for a 'Joker diary', filled with images and thoughts helpful to the Joker back story, like a list of things the Joker would find funny. (AIDS is one of them.)

Second most anticipated my ass!

There IS one thing that I will ALWAYS want to see first, and that is INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL.

But after that, hell yeah this will be my most anticipated.

Wow... an entire 9 comments and not a single Brokeback Joker crack? I'm impressed guys.

Ledger's definately got a good idea there, lets just hope he doesn't go to method and end up killing a bunch of hobos...

Time will tell as it always does, but that Joker's Diary... that is very characteristic of the Joker himself, so props to Ledger for using something like that to help with his performance.

December can't arrive soon enough
Indiana Jones, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man is very cool indeed. But the one film that will rock 2008 is undoubtely this one.

Ambien? Stupor? That's commitment alright.

THE TRAILER...
I am pretty sure the trailer will debut in December, hence the SeeYouInDecember.com stuff. But this is definitely my most anticipated film of next year with Indy 4 in second place.

everyone commends jack nicholson for being a good joker. But remember when he spit out those toy teeth when he got punched? or when he put on glasses and said 'you wouldn't hit a man with glasses would you?' Thats not very joker to me.

Maybe Ledger's got it after all. The Joker Diary idea fits the character perfectly. Maybe we could see it as a special feature on the DVD?

"Second most anticipated my ass!" - Got that right mister! I haven't seen that poll but I'll guess Iron Man was the first.Don't get me wrong, i think Iron Man will be great, but compared to The Dark Knight... phew, second league, man. :D
