Whoa, gotta mention this, just 'cause I love this sorta thing. MrPink, you said you and your friends had a revenge night at the movies, seeing "The Punisher" followed by "Kill Bill, Vol. 2"; my bro and I did the same thing, watched both the same day (matinee) and in that same order. (personally, I like "Punisher", but love "K.B.") Only ever done two movies in a row at the theater about twice, and that was the most recent.
Had to mention that, 'cause as I said, I find that kinda thing interesting. I often wonder "who else in the world watched 'The Killing Fields' last night, like I did?" I'd love to be able to find out stuff like that. |

Lexi Alexander can't compare to Jonathan Hensleigh. But I'm a huge fan of Sergio Leone which that was Hensleigh's template for his Punisher. This new one is being directed by a chick and it's not Penny Marshall. Has a female ever directed a movie geared towards males and been successful? (excluding Penny if you liked Big) Lexi wrote and directed Green Street Hooligans, whatever, so-so. I could live with out it. My prediction; two - three weeks in theaters, two months later, the DVD release. |

I love the Punisher comic and at first i was hesitant with this movie. It didn't go with Welcome Back Frank for the title (its just so badass sounding) and a new face playing Frank. I really thought Tom Jane was great and hated how the first movie would change the back story of Castle's family. Like them leaving out his daughter and the central park slaying completely, but from the trailer this new movie is keeping with the true story and I'm 100% on board. Hope it doesn't let me down. |

THIS PUNISHER IS A BIG UGLY FORCE OF NATURE
Like Punisher is supposed to look like. Jane is great but not for this. Plus the redband trailer looked just like the MAX series, the only way Punisher really works. And Jigsaw looked creepy. |

I still have doubts about this movie. I liked the 2004 version with Thomas Jane (thought he did an excellent job with Frank Castle), though Ray Stevenson does look like the Garth Ennis Punisher MAX series covers. I know Lexi was very passionate about "giving the fans what they want" but I have to have some reservations when an actor like Thomas Jane walks away due to script issues. I wouldn't consider myself a "fan boy", but I would say I was a happy movie-goer/comic fan after seeing this movie. I also remember it was a REVENGE night at the movies when my friends and I all saw 'The Punisher' followed by 'Kill Bill: Vol. 2' back to back at the local cinema. We saw Punisher first (not expecting much) but were thoroughly entertained after it was over. MUCH BETTER than KB:V2... just because I felt it didn't live up to the awesomeness that was KB:V1. To each their own, I'll see this new Punisher movie anyway... because I am a SUCKA for comic movies! |

The term "fan boy" is so overused it's ridiculous. I enjoyed Thomas Jane's performance and loved the 2004 version. They should have written a better script for Jane and continued working with him for the two sequels he was originallly signed for. That doesn't make me a fanboy. I think in this particular case it absolutely sucks that he isn't playing Frank Castle and this other guy (who I am incrediby unimpressed by) is. It's an opinion. Does it change the fact that this new guy is playing him? Does it change the fact that the movie is coming out? I doubt it. I have just as much right to say I don't like it as you do to say you do like it. |

Ray Stevenson makes Thomas Jane look like a pussy if you ask me. I like Jane but Stevenson is three times the bad-ass. This movie has a completely different feel judging from the trailers, much more gritty and violent. This isn't some svelte wuss with blond hair. |

ENTER THOMAS JANE FANBOYS
Balboa6, it's not like they replaced Al Pacino with David Spade in Godfather. I love Thomas Jane, but the first Punisher was a very mediocre film that didn't feel like The Punisher at all. This film has the look and feel of how a Punisher film should be. Over the top and bloody violent. |

NOD TO OTHER FLICKS...
i enjoyed the nod to "the boondock saints" with the spinning around upside down shooting sequence (the same kind of shot is in the 007 trailer near the end), that looks cool.
as for what ive read about the rest of it, im not expecting oscars, and hoping for blood and guts galore. |

The gun frames are really cool but I'm not entirely sold by the trailer yet. I like Joblo.com. I really do. But can your staffs fix that gigantic Quarantine banner that eat up almost half of the screen?? That's very annoying. Thank you.
